My Kitchen Rules

I have. Ages ago. Thanks for proving my point. Round and round we go. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

No you didn’t - you literally posted this - “All reality shows are contrived and manipulative to some extend” in the post preceding the one you are just replying to.

LOL. We’re not stupid.

You say that but you still don’t understand it. lol

Can you two enter MKR as a team next year? Shit’d be hilarious

 It would, but unfortunately he’d rather eat offal in the jungle. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Chris and Cookie must be the only team that did not need a car to go to Coles to shop for their ingredients. They walked all the way.
Lauren really had different thinking than other contestants. She praised the dessert as the dish of the competition so far but Lisa disagreed. Lauren criticised the entree and the main but other guests liked it.

They were because they said so. :stuck_out_tongue:

Tim and Dee’s instant restaurant was the “trainwreck” Colin mentioned in a media interview to promote this season. Dee just kept barking orders on her husband, but when Tim made mistakes, Dee often could not suggest ways to fix them, and this was reflected on their entree and main. Also, they should not have spent too them at the supermarket looking for ingredients. Like Jessica and Marcos’ instant restaurant, Tim and Dee also received 11 points from guest teams and made a humiliating exit.
The redemption round was unnecessary. What’s wrong with 15 teams competing in outdoor cooking challenges and cook-offs at Kitchen HQ? Was Seven worried about lower ratings compared with instant restaurants?
What do you think of Rachel Khoo as a judge? Should Seven invite her back for season 8 (Seven is already looking for applicants)?

I thought Rachel was great and would love to see her return next season. Would’ve been good if she also judged the elimination cook offs but I guess that would mean they would have to lose either Karen or Liz who are also great. I like the redemption round and also the fact they are eliminated two teams at the end of it.

LOL!

As for Rachel Khoo Rutzie, I could take or leave her. Didn’t bring much to the show. I don’t remember Colin’s round particularly lacking last year anyway for only having one judge. I’ve enjoyed her programmes on SBS before, but wasn’t a fan of her on this show. The pathetically contrived comments and stupid glances don’t really work when you’re somewhat respected as a food personality

Glad those two tonight were eliminated. That Dee is seriously a piece of work. Imagine living with that. Obvious they had never cooked before either.

By the way, anyone noticing the Nando’s sauce marinade bottles placed around the contestant’s fake kitchens this year? Even on some fridge doors? Because they’re a sponsor. This show just goes overboard.

Yes, and as a Novocastrian, I can tell you it was the inner Newwcastle suburb of The Junction is where it was based at.
Though they needed to stop 3 times when carrying their stuff home, one of them was carrying a case of beer as well!

And last night with Tim and Dee, I noticed MKR didn’t blur out their car number plates in the shopping footage (which they usually do).
For some reason, despite being in Sydney, their car had Victorian rego plates.

They have all been hire cars and all Holdens. Clearly Holdens a sponsor this year

No because I was too distracted by the Fuze Ice Tea which is shown being “prepared” to serve their guests later and everyone driving around in their Holden cars. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

A couple of teams drove their own cars. IIRC one team had a Subaru Forester and the logo had to be blurred.

We also had Gianni and Zana who almost had a meltdown when the car horn on their wanky Porsche malfunctioned.

The kitchen competition heats up for Redemption Round

Tim and Dee’s disastrous day in the kitchen served Carmine and Lauren the opportunity for redemption they had been hoping for.

Despite a last-minute save, it’s still an uphill battle for competitive South Australians Carmine and Lauren who enter the Redemption Round battle as the lowest-scoring team.

Tonight (Wednesday, March 2), proud West Australian sweethearts Nev and Kell are out to salvage their cooking reputation as they invite judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel and a whole host of new teams into their home for the first instant restaurant of the Redemption Round.

“I just wanted perfection and when I couldn’t get it, it devastated me,” admits Nev, who is adamant he won’t be among the two teams being eliminated at the end of this round.

The teams competing in Redemption Round are:

Rosie and Paige (SA) - 59
Monique and Sarah (NSW) - 68
Alex and Gareth (Qld) - 60
Nev & Kell (VIC) - 56
Hazel and Lisa (Qld) - 57
Lauren and Carmine (SA) - 51

Tonight though, Tim and Dee – who entered the competition to celebrate their first wedding anniversary - had a series of monumental disasters which saw them bickering for most of the night, resulting in a lowly score of just 36/110.

Dee had a meltdown while preparing her Lentejas (Spanish lentil soup) after running out of time to fry the chorizo, forgetting to add the ham hock and most disturbingly, when Tim forgot to stir the onions.

“They’re ruined. It’s not ok. Brown is bitter flavour,” said an emotional Dee.

Dee was back to her smiling self in time for their guests’ arrival, but it didn’t last long when she realised that Tim had bought coriander seeds instead of cumin.

“I’m really annoyed at you. Cumin is such a Spanish flavour. I’m really upset. What have you done? All our guests are here, it’s too late. I’m personally mortified. I’m really upset but I’m not going to let it get to me. I just need to get this entrĂ©e out,” she said.

The entrĂ©e, while looking fresh and colourful, did not excite judge Colin Fassnidge’s taste buds. He scored it two. Rachel Khoo called it a “big bowl of disappointment” in giving it a three.

After wiping away a few tears, Dee smelt smoke as Tim burnt the breadcrumbs that were destined for their meatballs for the main of Albondigas con Potatas Bravas.

While competitor Lauren pondered whether the teams would vote sympathetically after Dee shed a few more tears, the hosts actually brought it home with a beautiful-looking Flan de Huevo for dessert.

“I used to have that a lot growing up,” said Colin. “It was smooth, it was elegant. I was happy to see the fresh vanilla in there. But I wanted more caramel.” He awarded it a six, as did Rachel.

But it was not enough to save the duo, who leave 15 teams behind to battle it out for the title.

Slightly off topic, the Fuze Ice Tea was only launched at the start of this year. Was it possible it was on supermarket shelves mid last year when the instant restaurants took place and the public did not know about it?

Huh? Well, it couldn’t be if it was only launched this year, as you say.
