Saw this Hoyts offer on FB Story this evening.

Deadpool & Wolverine earned US$233 million in overseas markets, the biggest international opening of 2024. It generated $205 million in America which is also a domestic record.

Timothy Olyphant, wow, looks totally different

Also liked his villainous role in Die Hard 4.0 in 2007, alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Maggie Q and Bruce Willis, although most say a rather forgettable entry

A movie based on the creation of “Saturday Night Live” is coming soon:

A fabulous film, never knew it bombed at the box office, it’s looked upon in retrospect very highly today:

Legendary Entertainment has returned to Queensland to film what is being billed as the biggest TV series ever to be shot in the sunshine state.

Production has begun on the second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which was secured via Screen Queensland through the Queensland Government’s Production Attraction Strategy with the expectation it will generate more than $115 million for the Queensland economy.

“Lionsgate is immediately recalling our trailer for Megalopolis,” said a spokesperson for the studio. “We offer our sincere apologies to the critics involved and to Francis Ford Coppola and American Zoetrope for this inexcusable error in our vetting process. We screwed up. We are sorry.”

Watching Wrongfully Accused (1998) on Prime Video… One wonders where the great Leslie Nielsen was going after the smash hits of the late 80s/early 90s in “The Naked Gun” franchise, with this, “Spy Hard” and “Mr Magoo” to name a few.

It seems to be a parady of itsself 10 fimes over, gags at fast pace a minute.

Barely watchable. Only sticking with it for all the references & nods/winks for the audience and Nielsen.

I’ve seen a lot of new movies lately and have to say I’ve been left underwhelmed by so many which i thought were promising like The Fall Guy, Wonka, Furiosa, Challengers, Ghostbusters Frozen Empire and Mean Girls (2024).

I’m on the fence with IF. It was not brilliant but it had a really great ending. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare also has its moments.

However, I have to sing the praises of three really good movies Hit Man, American Fiction and All of Us Strangers. Worth noting that these are movies with fresh ideas and executed brilliantly.

Happy 40th Anniversary to Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest.

I also saw this article from Screen Rant, a good list (and point), happens so often, some of the best roles if not films, become so uncherished and forgotten, be it initial poor critical reception, poor box office, limited or different release or all of the above:

Had to laugh at Jamie Lee’s claim some years back “…That was the all time piece of shit! Some crap we did back in the 90s…” :joy: [Talking about 1999 sci fi-thriller Virus co-starring William Baldwin and Donald Sutherland].

The world premiere screening will take place at the EnergaCAMERIMAGE Festival in Poland on November 23, with a panel discussion with the film’s director, Joel Souza, who was also injured in the shooting, cinematographer Bianca Cline, and Stephen Lighthill, a mentor to Hutchins from film school.

Rotten Tomatoes film critic Emma Wolfe was watching Terrifier 3 — a movie so gory and violent that France has banned minors from viewing the film — at Innaloo Cinemas on the weekend when two attendees had to exit the theatre because the scenes were too shocking.

Seems odd to me Paramount Home Entertainment would release a 4K transfer of 2007’s Stardust
