“The Fugitive” will air on Seven for the first time Friday week, a very long running Nine staple! @Zampakid.

You could see this coming after Seven got the WB deal (even though its taken a few years or so) and after they already aired sequel/spin off “US Marshals”

FTA premiere, distributed by Roadshow Films in Australia. Received critical acclaim when it was released in cinemas. Allison Janney won supporting actress awards at the Golden Globes, the BAFTAs and the Oscars; while Margot Robbie was nominated for best actress in all three but missed out, only winning best actress award at AACTA International Awards.

I notice that 9GO! will show animated movies Trolls and The Boss Baby during 2020. Nine must have acquired the rights to both titles from NBCUniversal, which bought Dreamworks Animation in 2016 and owns the rights to its back catalogue.

A few more films airing in prime time on Seven for the first time (from their WB output) formerly on Nine, next week:

-“Blood Work” (2002) thriller starring Clint Eastwood and Jeff Daniels (one of the final films in his WB ‘Clint Eastwood collection’ where he had an old fashioned Hollywood contract or gentleman’s agreement with for decades). 7mate.

-“A Perfect Murder” (1998) thriller starring Michael Douglas, Gwyneth Paltrow and David Suchet, remake of Hitchcock’s Dial M For Murder. 7flix.

-“Oceans 11” (1960) original starring Frank Sinatra. 7mate.

-“Tarzan, The Ape Man” (1981). 7mate.

Please tell me they’re not promoting it like this.

Yep, but only in V/O this time and only in the longer version of the two promos that have been airing.

Why are networks of the view that the audience cares that a particular network is showing a movie for the first time? Let alone a 25 year old film?

I can understand pointing out FTA premieres to an extent but promoting a Library movie as being on your network for the first time - as though that’s something that should excite viewers - is rather arrogant.

Seven seem to put very little effort into the presentation elements of these promos.

Agreed. One of their worst (which is saying something as they’re usually the best at promos) especially those cast name graphics. And why include JM when’s she’s in the movie for 5min.

Moore is fourth in the credits. According to some stories on the internet her character originally had a bigger role but that storyline and her extra scenes were cut. Sela Ward who also has a minor role as Ford’s wife is third in the credits.
