Technically that’s wrong, they’re hosting the Bahrain GP.
On Thursday, all Hi-Tec Oils branding was removed without explanation from the series’ various social media platforms and website, rebranding simply as the AASA Race Series.
The Australian-owned lubricant brand had been the title sponsor of the championship since its inception in 2023, and more recently had taken on promotion duties through its Hi-Tec Oils Motorsport branch.
AASA has confirmed that promotion of the series has been brought back under the governing body’s control, while also confirming a title sponsor for the upcoming Fight in the Night event.
“AASA has made the decision to bring back the series in-house and rebrand the championship as the AASA Race Series, with a continued commitment to its competitors,” a AASA statement explained.

An absolute catastrophic mistake here.
In the final lap, Manuel Gonzalez sat up, thinking he had won the race. Except there was still one lap to compete.
He went on to finish the race… 14th.

Since Bathurst 1000 usually takes place one week after the NRL grand final, moving the GF to a new date could also affect the scheduling of the Great Race. Supercars organisers wouldn’t want both events to be held on the same day, due to police resource and transport issues.

Triple Eight have claimed a faulty Supercars-supplied part is directly responsible for “negatively” impacting champion Will Brown’s 2026 season.
In a statement posted on social media, the team reported that the No.888 Mustang has been competing with an “undersized engine airflow restrictor” all season, reportedly costing Brown nearly 1.5 tenths of a second, per lap.
: Isack Hadjar will miss the Dutch GP this weekend due to a wrist injury as F1 returns from the summer break.
Because of that, Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls) will replace Hadjar for the remainder of the weekend making his return to Red Bull.
Yuki Tsunoda (reserve driver both RB and VCARB) will also return to the grid and take Lawson’s seat.

It was the final F1 race at Zandvoort, which had hosted 36 Dutch Grands Prix since 1952.
