MasterChef Australia

Each to their own but I’m in that “minority group” and the fact that he’s apologised / commented that it is no longer his view is enough for me. I’ll judge him based on the person that I’ve seen on the show and how great a cook he is rather than a couple random trolling type comments that he wrote on a forum many years ago.

That last segment last night perfectly highlighted the impact which the Coronavirus restrictions have had on everyday interactions. In a pre-Coronavirus world, we would have seen not only Reynold being comforted when he broke down after hearing he was eliminated but Emelia & Laura being able to ‘properly’ celebrate each other making it to the GF

High praise for last night’s episode from a Seven employee/former reality show host.

Have to extend on that by saying how great it is having G rated content doing well. Truly family-friendly.

Unlike the past 11 seasons, this season’s grand final was entirely filmed at night, finishing in the early hours. 18 eliminated contestants returned to cheer on Laura and Emelia. Brendan was back at home in Perth and couldn’t attend, while Ben was absent for obvious reasons.
Former contestants begun to post their photos from that day in June on social media across today.

We are already kicking off the celebrations for the @masterchefau finale tonight with a chilled bottle of Mumm champagne and some fresh oysters! Here are a few fun behind the scenes pics for you. However, this first picture was taken whilst we are watching Laura and Emelia cooking their hearts out and giving it their all- not only do I love dearly love these two women but I know how much they dearly love each other and yet are both hungry for the title and have worked so hard to get to this point, so much respect for them!

they obviously only filmed one outcome for this

Fantastic finale.

Well done Emelia

They did such a fantastic job this season introducing a new lineup of judges, so good in fact, that it feels like they have been hosting this show for years.

They all worked so well with one another.

Cant wait till next season.

Yeah I can’t see them having filmed two endings. There was way too much emotion. No wonder Emelia was the betting odds favourite for the last few weeks. Who leaks this stuff?

I was wondering why the three judges didn’t score the menus?

The crew who worked on the show placing big bets on Emelia to win.

I would have been happy either Laura or Emelia won, they are both among my favourite contestants in the show’s history.
What a costly final Laura had, however. She burned her left hand and pushed through the pain to complete her three courses, and later found her freezer was left ajar, so her ice cream became icy. Laura was happy her friend won, but inside she would have felt gutted that she came second again.

What a great season we have seen. Well done to the three new judges and producers for revitalising the show. COVID-19 will again have a huge impact by the time season 13 starts filming towards the end of this year, it will be interesting how they will make the show even better. I look the new format, especially the all-in elimination, as it keeps all contestants on their toes, so it should be retained. However, I would like the immunity challenge to be tweaked to allow for multiple pins to be awarded next season. The challenge should be in two rounds, with the top contestants from mystery box competing. The winner claims weekly immunity, before cooking against a professional chef for a chance to win an immunity pin.

P.S. The Adelaide Advertiser reports Laura and husband Max Sharrad are planning to launch their second Italian restaurant next year. The couple will take over the old Rigoni’s site on Leigh Street in Adelaide CBD, with a 185-person eatery called Fugazzi Bar & Dining Room.

This season, in particular, we were delighted to welcome the new judges and favourites back to win and are pleased that audiences have responded so positively to the season, particularly during the difficult circumstances presented.

“We look forward to continuing our partnership with the MasterChef Australia brand into the future,” she said.

Deliveroo’s head of marketing and operations, Jodi Ingham, said: "This year MasterChef Australia resonated with Australians like never before. We saw searches for chicken feet skyrocket when the unique ingredient was revealed from Melissa’s Mystery Box. The first-ever Deliveroo challenge during Twist Week sent Twitter into a meltdown and we all shed a tear when Poh Ling Yeow was eliminated.

“As the world has changed around us, MasterChef Australia has given us all moments of joy and it has allowed us a platform to remind the public that Deliveroo is here to deliver," she said.

Emelia’s post after her win:

Well well well, what do we have here? My name on the old MasterChef trophy.
Had you have told me that 6 years later I’d be standing here, having just done the entire crazy thing again, I would have laughed!
What an incredible time it has been, my MasterChef. A pivotal part of my growth in my 20s and now the perfect way to begin the next decade of my life.
How lucky am i to have had such an exciting, fun and nostalgic adventure during what has been no doubt the worst year of many peoples lives. I am eternally grateful for the experience and the opportunity. I am eternally grateful for the mentors - both in front of (here’s looking at you @fooderati @zonfrillo @andyallencooks )and behind the cameras (here’s looking at you incredible team of cameramen, story producers, EPs, APs, ADs, the list goes on and on and on). I am eternally grateful for the friendships and connections, and for you all encouraging me on every step of the way. I am eternally grateful for a second chance. I can’t forget my little lozzie @laurasharrad; fierce competitor, incredible, intelligent woman, successful business owner and loyal friend, I am eternally grateful to know you Loz.
I couldn’t have done it without my beautiful mama and pops - you’ve shaped me into the woman I am today, and I’m so lucky to have the two of you as my parents. I couldn’t have done it without my beautiful family (the Griswolds), my beautiful friends (especially you, Tammy. Above and beyond, constantly.) and most importantly, my beautiful partner Craig; the mystery man! How did I get so lucky to have you all in my life?
And all of you; watching on in your living rooms. Don’t think your support has gone unnoticed; all the comments, the likes and the DMs of encouragement have honestly meant the world to me. They have made this exceptional experience, even more spectacular.

Onto the next big things from this little gal. Baking classes (online and hands on!), my brand new line of cake mixes (SOLD OUT before this post! Round two now in production), a baking bible underway and maybe a sneaky choux patisserie! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next @masterchefau I’ll be watching with eager eyes!

i would think it would be more of an SBS style food special, he doesn’t have the personality to host a studio show.

10 and everyone behind this season of MC should be so proud of what they produced. Incredible season and to have it feel so fresh after so many years just highlights what an incredible show and format 10 created with the local iteration of Masterchef!

Feel good TV at its best and honestly, as sad as it sounds, I will really miss not having it on each night. Given the current lockdown state of Melbourne it felt like a small bit of something to look forward to each night.

Does anyone think 10 might try and reduce the amount of episodes next year and just do Sunday-Tuesday. It would probably reduce costs and could air filler content on the Wednesday and Thursday.
