Tessa would have to reconsider cooking with the pressure cooker after coming unstuck in both challenges last night. The beef and the pork both became dry after they came out of the pressure cooker.
And what was Simon thinking by making a broccoli dish in round two? It was so simple and had nowhere to hide.
Late reply, but there was no herringbone pattern. The benches were simply rotated around 20 degrees to achieve the 1.5 m spacing.
That’s his style all along. Just a vegetable and some other garnishes.
I understand he’s a vegetarian and all but surely he can be a bit more creative in his approach? He didn’t make it this far because he stuck with his usual vegetable + garnish, but because he was (very rarely) being creative and made something else.
But on Sunday, fellow contestant Emelia Jackson, 30, sent fans into a frenzy when she cropped the returning star out of a cast photo and posted it to her Instagram account - even though she remains in the competition.
Fellow chef Reece Hignell was quick to question if there was bad blood between the two on social media.
‘Is there drama between you and Poh? I noticed that you cropped her out,’ he commented underneath Emelia’s post on Instagram.
To which, Emelia hastily replied, ‘ffs’.
Emelia’s post can still be seen on her Instagram account.
She says it was an accident, but I dunno. She seems pretty defensive about it in other replies to the post. In the past she has posted other images which are perfect squares, according to instagrams traditional picture format. This picture is not a perfect square, and looks to have been cropped before it was uploaded since the picture was probably landscape when it was taken ♂
Isn’t this a spoiler? I think some of these photos were posted during the later stages of filming and possibly hints at who makes it towards the end. Which is probably the real reason that it was cropped.
I was quite surprised Sarah crashed out as she specialised in South East Asian flavours. The turning point was her burning the curry paste, forcing her to use the remaining batch which led to the curry being watery.
My faves (in this order) would be Poh, Tessa, Reynold and Callum.
I’m still all about Poh. She’s probably the most versatile there, has her ups and downs but has probably won more challenges than anyone. I’ve also always really liked Tessa but she’s struggling to stand out this season. She did more earlier on but now always seems to be in the middle… Still hoping she has time to shine! Callum has grown on me this season and Reynold is just a crrative cook. I like most others but not as fussed if they go.
Also anyone that’s followed Sarah and Jess on social media… It looks like they are dating? When Jess left Sarah described her as one of the most amazing human beings that she’s ever met and there’s a lot of lovey dovey looking posts and stories on insta.
It was a great week for Reece. In the pressure test, he produced the closest replication of the jungle curry. He had the top dish in the smoking mystery box challenge. Then he narrowly beat Emelia in last night’s immunity challenge to reach the top 8. I reckon he would be top 5 material.
Finally outdoors. These are the sorts of challenges that I’ve been waiting for. They could have easily had another outdoor one before now to break it up a bit but they could have been holding out for a good weather day. It must have been a nice day as Reece is wearing shorts (although maybe he expected to be inside!).
Remember they are usually only tasting which is like 1 or 2 mouthfuls of each dish. The filming of the tasting process probably takes a while too.
