I enjoyed last night’s. At the start of this week I was worried it was going to drag but they really have been creative to make each night different.
It’s interesting that they are showing a lot of talk and commentary about Coronavirus times the last couple of weeks. If does make the show feel very relatable.
At this stage I’m all about Poh. I don’t care if the haters think that she gets too much airtime or is in too many promos. She’s the most entertaining cook, seems to be one of the more versatile cooks and def one of the strongest there. Poh all the way!!
Pandemic production strikes again? MasterChef is about to slip back to 3 nights a week.
Seems likely BIP will air maybe just Wednesday (or Wed/Thur nights) and perhaps Celebrity Gogglebox will be brought forward to 7:30pm Thurs with SVU apparently moving into the 8:30pm timeslot soon.
Absolutely the same here! She’s always been my favourite contestant this season (putting aside the fact that she’s one of the most accomplished contestants this year) and I’m loving her passion and skills for cooking and her quirkiness. Hopefully she makes the Final 4.
I am very surprised that 10 has decided to reduce the number of episodes per week. That means it will be hard to follow when is the next elimination, when is the mystery box, when is the immunity challenge etc, as they may be shown on different nights. Thus casual viewers who may watch only particular challenges each week, will have to tune into each episode.
I’m wondering if they’ve adjusted the format once restrictions came in to extend the series - not a bad call really but hopefully its not another 10 weeks it’ll get tiring.
That said, I’m all for 3 eps a week gives me two nights back to catch up on my netflix series.
That means the series will run for a total of 16 weeks compared to the usual 13. If it has the same amount of episodes of series from previous years this means Masterchef is only halfway through its broadcast this year and will likely conclude on Tuesday July 28th given that it follows the same pattern of episodes from the last 3 years.
I’m not surprised. This is exactly what I predicted in the BIP thread. I guess Ten aren’t confident that BIP can stand on it’s own too well and will benefit from potentially getting the MasterChef audience later in the week. Also MasterChef has only filmed up to the Final 4 so they are obviously waiting for restaurants to be able to have more numbers to do a service challenge before flying people back to film the finales.
There is a good chance that come the top 10 they’ve tweaked the format so that it fits 3 nights and someone goes every 3 episodes. If they have done this then I don’t have as big a problem with it . However if they haven’t it is going to be confusing and it won’t flow well. I just hope we don’t get a “finals week” and they say that across two weeks. They also risk the show losing some momentum by stretching it out.
I don’t think this is due to the pandemic but could just be them trying to extend the weeks runs and help boost Bach in paradise. I don’t think it is such a bad move.
No it’s definitely due to the pandemic. With no Survivor being filmed, no word yet on The amazing race and also delayed filming of Bachelor franchise TEN have obviously tried to find ways to fill in the blanks with it’s schedule. Hence why celebrity goggle box will be airing Thursdays 7:30, why Junior Masterchef is being produced and overall why Masterchef has had its broadcast extended by a month. Having no Survivor in Q3 obviously leaves a massive 2 or 3 month gap for Channel TENs 7:30 slot.
I mean I don’t think Masterchef has been cut back because of the pandemic. I think they are just trying to extend its run. Clearly with no survivor they are trying to boost weekly shares. Having shows like Bachelor in Paradise later in the week is quite a clever move.
Also reducing Masterchef to 3 nights a week isn’t really doing much for 10 anyway. They could air it like normal and had Bachelor in paradise multiple nights a week. I think this is more to boost weekly shares as Bachelor in Paradise on its own might have struggled.
I agree with this. Bachelor in Paradise is the weakest of the franchises and I’m assuming was produced as a short run series for the 8:30 slot either prior to masterchef or whilst masterchef was on. So it is now being used as premium content to anchor a night and it may well struggle but at the same time there hasn’t been much of the “dating” content since MAFS so for those viewers that like all of this shit might like it.
They’re hyping up a new promo THE WALL which in the ad is all white and looks mysterious. Then they cut to the set and it looks exactly like last years when they were put in teams and told to communicate through a wall
Whilst The Voice won in total people last night, masterchef had a clean sweep of all the demos. 10 would be extremely happy that it is holding up so well.
I’ve stopped watching. It’s too long and too many episodes. I’ve found I’m hardly watching free to air outside of news. Just streaming services most of the time.
