I initially read that as OLD. Not the best font.

Does anyone find this week is dragging? These single elimination weeks are too close together and just feels like they want to make more episodes. The pace needs to speed up a bit. I’m also finding that if every cook is now in the MC kitchen it’s going to get a bit repetitive. I’m already missing outdoor and service challenges. Are they not even able to use the backyard as a change of scenery?

I’m guessing the backyard might not be big enough to satisfy the requirements for social distancing guidelines, with all the benches set up and the judges tables set and everything. I think the rest of this season will most likely be set in the kitchen.

They could use the backyard for a BBQ challenge which would not require too many benches. And with no events at Royal Melbourne Showgrounds for obvious reasons, the judges tables could be set up on the gardens outside.

I hope so. They’ve definitely done challenges in the past outside the kitchen in the garden area but they could need less contestants to do that.

I miss the team challenges when they have to cook for a party ,at a restaurant, etc ,but with the current social distancing measures obviously that’s not possible anymore
Like to see what Melissa wears every episode too

Haha yes - the amazing dresses are something to obsess about now.

And the team challenges do provide some excitement. Now they’re stuck inside as if they were on lockdown :mask:

It’s because I’m a female I notice this😊

And I’m just noticing it… because… I guess it looks nice.
I have no other reason :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I hope they can get a bit more creative than what we’ve had so far. Do far it just feels like standard in kitchen cooks replacing team challenges.

There’s plenty they can do. Some random ideas I can think of include doing another “takeaway” challenge where they have to pack and serve as orders come in. Do a 3 course service challenge for judges and crew etc. Split teams into pairs and block off each kitchen and contestants cook for the other teams who judge each dish blind (I know that’s a bit MKRish but could be interesting as a one off at a non-elim). Get outdoors and do some things just for a change of scenery like do an outdoor BBQ challenge or a garden themed challenge with some guest judges etc. Or this one might be trickier (or not allowed?) but in the past they’ve had some contestants cook at different restaurants and the judges moved to each to taste a course at each. When numbers are lower couldn’t they send 1 or 2 contestants to different restaurants so the kitchen has enough space and cook different courses?

Didn’t realise that Ten has uploaded episodes of Masterchef UK and US onto Tenplay (this includes the normal, junior and celebrity versions).

Last night’s immunity challenge was like a dress rehearsal for the grand finale, with contestants competing for points across three rounds. After trailing Poh and Khanh in the first two rounds, Callum created a gin and lime mousse which gave him a perfect 30/30 while his rivals faltered. Callum thus won the challenge and became the first person to reach the top 10 this season.
