Not sure if it was a good idea to put hand sanitisers so close to the microwave?
Also I notice not every contestant wore gloves while handling food or cooking. I reckon the rule would be strictly enforced in the next episode.
Meat and Livestock Australia will replace itâs planned advertising during the Olympic and Paralympic games with advertising spots during MasterChef and a special beef challenge on the show in late June.
Yeah - we knew that already thought, didnât we? This is the 12th season of it being filmed this way?
Past contestants had said after the cooking stopped, judges would come to the bench and eat from a small side dish before the main tasting test. Unless this didnât occur during Sundayâs elimination?
Contestants would know by now that if they are cooking fish they need to leave it a little under as it will continue to cook in the breaks. In the episode where they had home deliveries, Tessa intentionally undercooked her fish because she knew it would continue to cook afterwards. Also Tracy could have easily put the sauce separately and added it to the dish when it was served like many other contestants do probably for that reason. Tracy did look genuinely shocked that she was eliminated. I think that she was pretty confident. At the end of the day though 3 contestants had overcooked fish and hers was the worst, mostly because the sauce was too fatty.
Last night saw the first episode with Coronavirus restrictions and there were a few changes in the kitchen. I reckon the team relay was set up as a first test run in the new world as it meant the contestants were all quite separated throughout.
This week will also only have one elimination next Sunday. Obviously this was implemented to fill up some episodes after Benâs departure as they have one less contestant.
The team relay was set up because there would be no more service challenges for the rest of the season. COVID-19 restrictions mean the public are no longer able to come to the kitchen and enjoy meals cooked by the contestants, until next season. Conversely, contestants wonât be able to cook in public places or other restaurants for the rest of this season.
EDIT: Melissa posted on her Instagram last night explaining her absence from the team challenge.
Weâve reached the point in our season where COVID rules come into play. As a food show, hygiene is always at the top of mind and practice, but now youâll see social distancing, too.
For those of you wondering where I am in this landmark episode, I had sinusitis and took myself to the GP in order to do the safe, thorough and responsible thing in such uncertain times. I was cleared and returned to set the next day.
As a cast and crew, we take the health and safety of each other and our community seriously and feel fortunate to continue bringing you a season weâre thrilled you love.
As a nation, we have worked hard to flatten the curve. We are still not through it completely, so we must continue to do the right thing and stick to the guidelines created to keep us all safe.
The show, which airs on ViacomCBS-owned Network Ten, offered a glimpse of how reality producers in the U.S. may be able to get their unscripted projects back up and running under social distancing-friendly circumstances.
The show, which is now in its 12th season and features a number of former winners of previous seasons, came back with social distancing measures across every facet of production, including the judges, contestants and crew.
MasterChef Australiaâs return ⌠could be a roadmap for international non-scripted shows to return.

Last nightâs pressure test was one for Emelia to lose, and she basically breezed through the three hours to prep apart from a small hiccup when she struggled to tie up the water balloon after inserting it inside the chocolate sphere. Her win meant she wouldnât have to cook in tonightâs mystery box challenge or Sundayâs elimination.
Does anyone know if filming has completed yet? Iâve never really followed MasterChefâs betting odds so Iâm not sure if they are ever accurate but out of nowhere the last few days one particular contestant has really shortened as a clear favourite as the winner. Itâs a bit odd.
Yes it wrapped on the weekend apparently.
Apparently the final four has been decided according to Daily Mail, with two contestants posting on Instagram photos of themselves returning home. I think Endemol Shine is waiting for coronavirus restrictions to ease further (when 50 people will allowed in an indoor venue from June 22 in Victoria) before filming the grand final.
Ok Iâm kind of hoping that itâs true so at best this person is only in the final 4 at this stage. Otherwise I feel like Iâve been spoiled. Itâs also a good idea to hold off filming if they can do service challenges in a few weeks.
Strange if that is the case though and some of the rumoured finalists come from states with quarantine restrictions.
I also wouldnât believe the betting odds too much. One of the rumoured final 4 isnât even in the top 4 on the betting odds.

I think Poh or Jess are favourites to win
I think Khan will win tonight.
Jess or Reynold.
Jess will win this season. Her food has just constantly gone above and beyond.
Her dish tonight was stunning.
I think Poh, Jess, Reynold and maybe Laura and Sarah Tiong would be in contention to win. Theyâve been the standouts this season so far.
