Julie would have to be towards the top of the list surely. I feel she would have good chemistry with anyyone and now has the experience in front of the camera.
MasterChef has needed a refresh for years⌠now they donât have a choice!
The Project is going to cover it shortly
Seriously? Julie goodwin is the last person i would be considering. Sheâs too homestyle for what the show has become IMO.
Totally did not see this coming. While I kind of expected George to leave because of the wage underpayment scandal, I did not think Gary and George will quit too. The show has made the three guys household names not just in Australia, but around the world. It will be big loss for the show.
I guess they wonât help promote the current season when it premieres on W channel in UK on August 5.
Julie Goodwinâs âhomestyleâ isnât a bad idea considering viewers are complaining some of the dishes prepared on the show have become too elaborate for home cooks to emulate. Ten will just have to ensure they have plenty of Cabcharge vouchers on hand in case she raids the pantryâs supply of cooking alcohol.
Iâm sorry but $1 Million for each of the judges (let alone $2 Million!) is far too extravagant for a network who in recent years, has had to make cutbacks to important areas of the network like news/current affairs + childrenâs programming.
Somewhere around the $500-800k mark would probably be more realistic, and even thenâŚ
Having seen Garyâs house he needs a million a year just to maintain it
During Angela Bishopâs interview on The Project did she deliberately emphasise âunderpaidâ when she said that was what the three judges thought of their current salaries?
Iâm sure they are all friends as they have been working together for the past 11 years so she is probably emphasising their side. Although I havenât seen the interview.
Watched some cooking shows with Julie before and I think I fell asleep before the first ad break. Not everyone is destined for presenting, hate to be critical but Julie is just boring to watch.
Just donât go down the trouble maker judge road and it still might have legs. The only one they would be able to get away with is Ramsay and even then they would need to air it later.
Julie goodwin is boring so no thankyou.
What ide like: Shannon Bennet, Nigella Lawson and Peter Gilmore for next year and I am in.
What we will get: Poh, Matt Sinclair and Billy. Theyâve prepped them as the mentors, Matt has great presenting skills but Billy is bland as oatmeal.
Agree. Canât help but think the mentors this season were being prepped for this. Matt seems to have copped some flack but he has great presenting skills. Whilst I love some previous contestants we need professionals as judges I want someone with credentials.
I would love to see someone of the same calibre as Nigella or even someone local like Curtis Stone.
The biggest loss aside from their personalities is the connections these judges have to the industry and peers. Hopefully Masterchef can still attract the international talent theyâve had on the show over the last few years.
Iâd rather it just finish up tonight.
On a somewhat high.
That ainât happening.
I reckon theyâll decide to call it quits over the next few months and itâll quietly go.
I donât think it will.
Not going to happen. Its 10s highest rating tentpole show and whilst itâs hit some lows it still beats House Rules most nights and does well in 10s key demos.
UPDATE 9.20pm AEST: MasterChef finale is trending in the top two in Australia on Twitter alongside newly elected British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Thatâs what I am also concerned about. How are the producers able to invite chefs to appear on the show without the appeal of these three judges?
