Just like James.
(Not) Making It bumped to Saturday nights.
New episodes will move to 6pm Saturdays from this weekend followed by 2 x The Dog House (UK) and a repeat of Young Talent Time: Unmasked at 9:30pm.
This leaves some juggling for next week with a Graham Norton Show episode on James Bond (guests Daniel Craig, Lea Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Rami Malek and Ed Sheeran) to screen at 7:30pm Wednesday October 6.
On Thursday 7th will be high-profile doco Prince Phillip: The Royal Family Remembers at 7:30pm (a better slot than the planned 9pm Wednesday) followed by Gogglebox.
In other words: Axed or at the very least, highly unlikely to return in 2022.
Usually when a program is bumped to Saturday nights, it’s not a sign they’ve got a promising future!
That’s rough. Will barely do 200k on Saturdays
You’d think the demos are bad as well at TP for them to do this. Lucky not many weeks to go.
Best demo results were in 18-49 and in 16-39 were it ranked 13th. It was 15th in 25-54.
16-39:
10 HOME AND AWAY
11 QUESTION EVERYTHING-EV
12 THE PROJECT 6.30PM
13 MAKING IT AUSTRALIA WED
14 ABC NEWS-EV
How disappointing. I will follow the show to Saturdays.
and I am not surprised.
Sarah just said on Studio 10 (when talking about Ursila’s mum and making dolls of the guessing panel on Masked Singer) “Season 2 of Making It is coming up soon here on 10”.
Guess she either just accidentally announced it’s coming back (?) or didn’t get the memo about the ratings and recent times lot change
I’m guessing it is the latter. No way this come back.
Yeah I wanted to like this show and really tried. But I got bored.
Was she being sarcastic though, not about the show, just in general about Ursula and the doll and just making a joke.
Making It moving timeslot was used in a question in Have You Been Paying Attention? tonight, in which host Tom Gleisner called it “an exciting announcement”
Too good.
Tonia Todman, former presenter on 10’s Healthy, Wealthy and Wise in the 1990s, is special guest judge on an upcoming episode.
EDIT: she will appear on the episode which airs on October 16.
Weirdly when I was going through the channels tonight there’s a program called The Repair Shop on ABC in the same slot which is a very similar genre. So if putting Making It in the 6pm Sat slot isn’t enough to bury the show 10 have managed to put it up against a show with the same incredibly niche subject area.
Is this the type of show that could work as a Paramount+ exclusive?
Now that they have the sets/infrastructure in place, a second season would have to be cheaper to produce. Episode length could be whatever works for the episode (no add breaks to worry about). It would be Australian Reality that P+ lacks.
I think I mentioned this also when they bumped it, but agree it could possibly work on P+ and having the service now could really change the way they think about renewals for shows which maybe don’t work on broadcast but could find a home elsewhere.
I saw the episode last night and was also pleased that Will finally received his first patch. The copper rose was his best creation to date.
Since no one went home last night, could there be a double elimination next week?
