The show has been axed according to TV Tonight.
Rather than giving up on it entirely, I would’ve liked to have seen 10 adapt this into a streaming show for P+, it would’ve worked well there I think and would be the type of show viewers would binge watch.
Whilst it is a good concept that unfortunately didn’t rate well enough to survive, at least one good thing that comes out of this is that the staff associated with 10 on this show can be assigned to work on the other shows like Hunted.
Making it is from Matchbox Pictures and Eureka Productions - Hunted is produced by Endemol Shine Australia.
10 haven’t commissioned any new shows from the same producers as Making It.
Wasn’t Eureka behind Holey Moley?
Yes but not too sure what that has to do with the axing of Making It.
Just was thinking 2 failed shows with them , probably doesn’t mean anything.
So in being axed does that mean the remaining episodes will be on 10Play or somewhere?
It’s still on Saturday’s on 10 isn’t it?
No, it’s still in the schedule. It just means there won’t be a new season.
Ahhh ok that makes sense. I thought it meant this season had been pulled. It was pretty obvious that there wouldn’t be another.
The grand final (featuring the three remaining contestants) will be shown on the evening of Saturday, November 6.
Chris Bath encouraged viewers to stay around to watch the show at the end of tonight’s bulletin, in particular giving Susie a nice shoutout - it’s clear shes quite fond of her with how she spoke about her.
Rehana was eliminated at the end of last night’s episode, after a 9-hour mega craft challenge decorating a bedroom. George won both faster craft and mega craft rounds.
NSW prop maker George Roppingly-Goode (nee Buchanan) won the final last night, beating Rizaldy and Jack in the Mega Craft challenge, in which they had to set up their own pop-up party stall.
George had a purple patch (no pun intended) towards the end of the competition, winning five challenges in a row on her way to claim the Master Maker title and $100,000 in prizemoney.
Having the prop cheque made from timber was a masterstroke.
The edit towards the end was poor. When the hosts met the three finalists (who were dressed up in party costumes) for the winner announcement it was just after dawn, but when they walked into the barn the background was dark.
The ratings are in for last night. The final of Making It Australia failed to make the top 20. Although the show failed to make an impact for Ten, at least Ten aired the series in its entirely, which is good.
It’s incredible that the series was rating better than the likes of The Bachelorette and Big Brother VIP before being bumped, yet both series were renewed for 2022.
Yeah I agree I don’t know why 10 couldn’t just keep it where it was. Although I have to admit I was bored of this show after 20 minutes
