True and I just had a look at how Big Brother did in it’s last season on 9 and the current season is actually rating slightly worse in total viewers.

The US version of Love Island will be filmed at a hotel in Las Vegas rather than Fiji.

I think I read somewhere that 7 were ready to pounce on this if 9 didn’t renew it.
Nine could easily set up something like this on the Gold Coast.

Now that Nine has a substantial gap to fill where The Voice would usually air, is it possible that they could air Love Island in their place? Or is it still to risque/low-rating to air the show at prime-time (seeing as most of its success comes from BVOD)
Maybe they air sports shoes
I would leave it on 9GO/9Now where rating of 200k are acceptable.

I noticed that they didn’t mention who is the host - now that Sophie Monk is hosting Beauty and the Geek I’m guessing they might try and find someone new?

Anyone want to throw any names into the mix for host?
I think Sophie could definitely still do it, seeing as it’s only being filmed at the Gold Coast so she could juggle both reality shows. However, I could see Nine saving her up for Beauty and the Geek so she doesn’t get over-exposed, and obviously they want to generate as much hype as possible for the new show.

Yeah she’s highlighted in the Beauty and the Geek press release (not to mention the huge promo photo with her in the middle) but there’s nothing at all about the host for Love Island.
You would think they would want to do Love Island early in the year whilst it’s still warm so im guessing it comes in Feb or March.
Sophie will be the host.
