Is it true that Jess from MAFS is going to be on this season of Love Island? Shoot me now.
According to this profile story on Sophie Monk, the season premiere will be at 8.40 pm on Monday, October 7.
A promo on This Time Next Year shown tonight says there are two episodes to go, so the timing is right.
8:40? Very strange. Thought it would be in a 7:30 slot.
The Block is still continuing. I also think Love Island has lots of adults only content which is not suitable for the 7.30pm timeslot.
Love Island would not be suitable for a 7:30 pm timeslot as a lot of its content is rated MA. Not really family viewing.
So if it premieres on Monday 7 October, it will most likely air for the final eight weeks of the ratings year.
I think it was M last year
Perfect timeslot IMO. Always good to see networks putting an effort post 830pm and I think it would struggle to stand on its own at 7.30pm on 9. It’s suited to a later slot and The Block lead in will do it good. I actually liked BIP in the later slot this year it felt more suited to that timeslot.
October 7 confirmed
Yeah I agree I like the slot as well just find it strange that 9 didn’t give it the 7:30 slot. Now wondering what they will put in at 7:30 when The Block concludes.
The block still has a long way to go. They’ve only just hit the halfway point. Rough calculations say The Block Auctions could be in the final week of ratings for the year.
Promo here
Last year The Block launched on 5 August and concluded 28 October at the beginning of week 44 after 48 episodes. This year the launch was 4 August and there have been 28 episodes - so 20 to go with each of the last 2 weeks previously having only 2 episodes.
Oh good, it’ll be rather odd if this was on 7:30pm slot totally sanitised. Can Nine show Adults only eps as well?
Oh really? I haven’t watched it this season so had no idea. It feels like its been on for ages.
NEW SERIES OF LOVE ISLAND AUSTRALIA
From Monday 7 October at 8.45pm
Sophie Monk returns to host the ultimate game of love and romance in Love Island Australia, premiering on Monday, October 7 at 8.45pm on Nine.
Returning to host season two of the hottest international reality show format right now, Sophie will play Cupid as she takes a group of beautiful young Aussie singles to find love in the sun.
Love Island Australia – which was one of the most-talked about shows last year – sees a group of sexy singles coupling up in a luxury villa in search of the ultimate holiday of lust, romance and love.
Not only must the Love Island couples stay together, they must also survive the temptations as beautiful new singles enter the island. They must also win the hearts of the public, convincing them – and themselves – that their newfound love is real. The winning couple is handed a pot of money to start their new lives together, but there’s a catch: one is given the chance to share the money or walk away with it all for them self. Were they after love or money all along?
Last series’ Islanders – including Cassidy, Tayla, Erin, Millie, Grant, Eden, Josh and Mark – won over a legion of fans and got all of Australia joyfully yelling: “I got a text!”
Sophie Monk said: “I’m ridiculously excited to meet a whole new group of Islanders. The cast is on another level this year. I’m hanging to watch my favourite show with you all and see gorgeous people falling in love. My advice to Islanders? Just be yourself, but from what I’ve heard… be prepared for some serious twists and turns!”
Former 10 senior social media producer (Survivor, I’m a Celeb etc) is taking up a role with ITV working on Love Island… this should be good!
Sophie Monk confirmed on Fox FM’s Fifi, Fev and Byron this week that season two would be filmed in Fiji.
