To be fair to them, how are they supposed to?
It’s the same problem with any other streaming service. Netflix, Stan, HBO, whoever says they’ve had X amount of people watch their new show, we can’t verify it. They’re public companies so there’s some more integrity there, but the point remains. The independence of Nielsen or GFK (as flawed as it is) is often taken for granted.

Might have paid for the month out of curiosity (more the technical side of things).
That’s unlikely, given there’s no monthly payment option. It’s interesting how News.com.au keep calling it ‘Kyle’s $99 show’. Maybe Kyle should rename it to that?

So people paid $99 for Kyle Live audio and some of the microphones weren’t working. Under Australian Consumer Law is you purchase a good or service and it is not of “acceptable quality”, you are entitled to a refund.
One of the Sydney or Melbourne FM breakfast teams should subscribe to Kyle Live and then attempt to get a refund of the $99. They can do it next time there are audio issues or when Kyle eventually starts calling in sick (probably next week).
Now that would be on on-air stunt that I would love to hear (so would the Daily Telegraph).

Good point - what are they going to do when Kyle is sick? Do they produce it from his bed? Do they have a reafy made Kyle stand-in for those days? Do they replay the previous day show?

With no sponsors, there’s no need to do anything if there’s no new show.
You’d think he’d be doing something to ensure the subscribers have something. Unless he’s had it written in the T&Cs of the subscription that he is not responsible for any days he has off and if has them, eat shit and pay up?

Probably nothing.
Given there are 260 weekdays in a year, the $99.99/year subscription would still work out to around 76.9 cents per show if Kyle didn’t show up half the time (i.e., 130 shows). Whether that’s still good enough value is up to you…

You won’t find much criticism about the content in this mostly technical analysis from Steve Ahern.
From the few clips I saw I was just surprised at how, I guess non-innovative it was. Kyle kept calling it the radio on air. They had Chris Minns on, which is probably a whole lot less relevant if it doesn’t broadcast to a local area. Then you had songs being played on a video stream. Etc. Seemed unpolished
