Slow news day apparantly…

They should be careful making friends with him. He’ll likely come after their breakfast shift.
Just ask his former friend Jase.
Gotta keep an eye out in case his show flops, as it will inevitably will. ![]()
Kyle’s just ‘doing the rounds’ to promote his new show. Nothing new. Free PR.
Brooklyn Ross has joined KSLIVE. Was this announced by ARN that he has departed?
Kyle is going to need to get 100 000 subscribers at $100 a pop to get anywhere close to the $10M he was earning a year at ARN. In this cost of living crises how many people would be so stupid to pay for something that they got for free only a few months ago? Mind you, you’re also paying for Kyle solo, even worse.
I can already see the news.com.au headline for when Kyle ceases making the subscription show as there are not enough subscribers:
“Kyle Sandilands Dead”
“Kyle Sacks Himself”
$100 Was $99 Too Much"
“Kyle minus Jackie O = Temu Breakfast with the Stars”
“Kyle Uncensored, Unfiltered and Unlistenable”
“Kyle Fails But No Surprise: Melbourne Wouldn’t Listen For Free”
“I got $99 problems”
Kyle Sandilands and Karl Stefanovic don’t want anyone to feel sorry for them, they have assured listeners, in a 35-minute podcast episode that hashed out at length the premature downfall of their respective careers on commercial networks.
Before his first daily four-hour live show on 10 August, Sandilands said his subscription service had already received “tens of thousands” of sign-ups. Subscribers pay a flat annual rate of $99 to gain access to his content, which currently includes the documentary and three episodes on “building the show”, to be released in parts, with a timer countdown.
“We’ve got enough money to run the thing for three years already,” Sandilands told Stefanovic, adding if they hit 200,000 subscribers they’d give away “bars of gold” and “houses”. While he owns 100% of the business, his former employer ARN will receive 19.9% of any revenue it generates beyond $3m in its initial stages under their settlement deal.

He has taken a lot of his old staff on board. Will be devastating for them if it fails.
Kyle must be dreaming that people will pay $99 a year to watch or listen to his show. I won’t be. I have other things in my life that need that money instead
I noticed there is no trial option either
I bet you all by Christmas Kyle will announce that KSLive is a failure
No Trial by Kyle…or Trial of Kyle? ![]()
Going by the reports that he has 20,000 subscribers and $2million in the bank, I read that he’s already paid the bills for the next 2 and a half years
We’ve already got the bills paid for the next two and a half years: Kyle Sandilands’ new show - RadioInfo Australia
If true, speculation that the show will fail is now a mute point!
While the program isn’t my cup of tea and won’t be subscribing, I can only see that number going up.
Whether anyone actually listens doesn’t matter! He’s got the subscribers; he’s got the money!
He’s won! Game over!
The question I’ve got (and others probably do too) is how? In the short term, the growth will be from existing fans, but there will come a point where he’ll tap out on that and has to attract new followers.
With a platform that requires a significant up-front investment and as yet no way to sample the content, it’s going to be incredibly difficult to build on his “P1s” that would have followed him anyway.
I think it’s incredibly premature to claim he’s won something (anything?) - there is still plenty of room for it to fall over.
It’s quite possible that this venture will be disruptive - but will it last?
His production team is pretty switch on when it’s come to digital marketing. While the show is behind a paywall, there is bound to be plenty of short clips posted on social media, and anything remotely controversial he utters will be written up as an article on Daily Fail/Newscom within hours.
I’d love to see some verification that 20 000 individuals have already paid up front for a show that starts tomorrow. I want to believe it but my brain just won’t accept it. Is there proof? Is it just a figure that Kyle has mentioned? So many questions.
Arrogance will probably prevent the real figure ever being revealed.
The day that he starts having a go and ranting about his old ‘radio’ listeners then you know the subscriber numbers aren’t going well. Similar to when he had a go at Melbourne when the figures weren’t what he was expecting.
