It’s vague on how long they’ve actually signed for … “2022 and beyond” isn’t exactly specific

News.com.au is saying 2024.

May be an option beyond 2022, continue on terms agreed in 2019 or leave or renegotiate.

A great length of certainty for the team.

Sydney entertainment FM bfast radio is in an era that Brisbane was in from 1990 - 2005, a dominant show with little investment by competitors nor talent development. Two level eco system of K&J then the rest.

Whilst not a talent vacuum, a limit on the quality of talent as competitors decide not to aggressively invest.

I think Sydney FM brekky is pretty competitive really… Jonesy & Amanda on WS, Fitzy & Wippa on Nova and Bogart Torelli on Smooth are all established players and provide good competition.

You could say that 2DAY tried to “invest” eg. Dan and Maz, but didn’t get anywhere with that, arguably they weren’t patient enough.

They also have thrown a lot of money at the breakfast slot with people like Rove, Merrick Watts, Mel C, Grant Denyer but nothing has worked.

They’d be competitive with Fitzy and Wippa by now you’d have to think

Jase & PJ and Will & Woody are still yet to be signed.
