Hopefully it’s no win, no fee
Jackie’s lawsuit might be coming first.
Two people with detailed knowledge of Henderson’s legal correspondence … said she had alleged ARN wrongfully ended her contract and had not offered her another show.
A spokesman for ARN declined to respond to questions, but said the company stood by its statement to the ASX.
I think I’d rather take the word of the ones who wrote the contract over the one who didn’t read it.
Brisbane listeners made it very clear that Vile Kyle and Jackie O and their programme wasn’t welcome here so ARN were forced to reinstate Kip,Robin and Corey.According to all the Facebook posts I read anyway.
Happens a lot on 2sm, lawsie hated it, he could do it all by himself, even cut or fade a track, but the automatic speed up and slow down is a pain in the arse.
He knows all the answers before he asks a question, this is ouch serious.
I actually think that was the moment I realised ARN were done with K&J - when they reinstated the 97.3 breakfast show. It was clear they were done at that point. The previous show they had announced was just a filler until (they hoped) K&J got their act together. When they reverted to Robyn & Co I now believe they had decided to cut K&J loose somehow, it was just a matter of waiting for the right opportunity.
I think you can thank Melbourne for that ![]()
I hope they both win in court. I don’t think ARN knew what they were doing. We want to think “surely they thought it through, surely it wasn’t just a knee-jerk attempt to get rid of them, surely it was legally air tight.” But this is the same category of thinking as “surely a guy with billions of dollars wouldn’t go all the way down to the Titanic in an unsafe submarine”
Interesting parallel to the Lattouf case as well. Different in that Lattouf is a good person who was punished for standing up for Palestine in her own time, not a bad person arguing about astrology on air. But similar in that management’s actions to pull the presenters under pressure were inexplicable and are probably hard to legally defend. And now the same lawyer.
That’s a fair comment. Even with the announcement of Lowie in breakfast, it was always clear he was a gap filler until they decided to network K&J. Once they abandoned that, they abandoned the national strategy and it all became very clearly unsustainable, and inevitably an exit would be sought.
Then they also kinda realised they haven’t announced anyone in the national late slot.
If they wanted to reinstate the trio, then they also had to give Lowie something. There it was.
So you want them to win and bankrupt ARN?
Heard Sally Pearson (ex- 7 GC News and Sunrise) reading sports headlines on KIIS Brisbane this afternoon.

if they do, they’ll just get bought out by someone else like Nine.
Well, if ARN is found to have acted illegally then yes damages should be paid. Thats why contracts exist. To be honoured.
And for cheap too.
Now the muppets in this forum are showing their true colours.
Not you, JBar. The ones who are happy about the concept of ARN being bankrupted. The same people who are supposedly outraged about all those who have lost their jobs because of the K&J deal, want everyone else to lose their jobs too.
I’ve been made redundant and work in the media. It’s not about that but in the end if the can’t work it out as a business, it’s better long term to be in the hands of a better resourced organisation.
I mean it would be the entirely deserved, self-inflicted hubristic downfall of a company that’s made millions enabling a bully and appealing to people’s lowest natures for years, so yeah
