Yes they’re absolutely hopeless.
yeah, it’s when they’re not on air
Ha Ha🤣
The Best Bits are when the transmitter fails and its FM static on 106.5 haha
“The Best Bits” should be a replay of the music, news breaks and commercials they played.
As the ratings go nowhere in Melbourne is seems that Kyle and Jackie O are becoming more extreme. The recent “pissing competition” is evidence of their race to the bottom. The show is a train wreck and the decision to lower the bar is only making it worse. They should be tweaking the show to appeal more to Meburnians. I am not sure that having a 50-something year old male referring to a woman’s private parts as “flaps” is the tweak they need. Kyle comes across as a pervert and their $20M a year salary comes across as a huge waste of money.
Kyle and Jackie’s greatest achievement was being able to convince ARN that the show would be a success in Melbourne. Their greatest failure is the show being broadcast in Melbourne.
Nailed it. Particularly the 50yo man part. It’s just creepy.
Maybe the best bits show should be replays of Lauren and Jase’s show?
I know there was a mention of Opie & Anthony earlier this week.
Here is Opie & Anthony listening and reacting to that infamous “first time” bit:
When they think that K&JO should be fired or would be fired…
Although they do defend them somewhat later on.
where are kyle and jackie o broadcasting from this week? they are in new york. are they still doing the show?
They aren’t broadcasting at all. It’s radio break.

This is an interesting to read
A very interesting read, considering they were once, “Breakfast with the Stars”.
Now I suppose they are “the Stars” and no longer need interviews to boost ratings.
Plus, I’d say a reason for them keeping celebs “on hold” is to stop them from having to speak to the competition. Which if true, is a little poor performance.
If you listen to breakfast radio now, are you really listening for celebrity interviews anymore (if ever)? You can just get the same interviews from YouTube by now.
You want people talking about topical stuff, topics/news relating to your city/town, traffic info and most importantly music.
Nobody really cares what celebrity they have on unless they can give a long form interview that isn’t about their latest project but there is not enough time for that on commercial radio.
The Las Vegas specials will air at 6pm today and Sunday.
Just before 8:30am this morning, I heard Tom Grennan’s new single “Higher” on KIIS 106.5.
While Grennan hasn’t charted well in Australia (though his only song to chart here, “Little Bit of Love”, peaked at #16 on the ARIA charts in 2021), some of his other music has received good radio airplay and he is well liked by a lot of music fans, myself included.
The song was released only yesterday, as was “Spot a Fake” by Ava Max (whose recent singles have failed to impact Australian radio, apart from her collaboration with Kygo on “Whatever”).
There are so many artists like this who seem to receive unusual amounts of airplay in Australia despite their usual ever-dwindling popularity both here and internationally.
I’m not sure if it’s a case of out of touch music directors or payola but it is ridiculous. The ARIA charts are impacted far too much by airplay in this modern day and play a huge role in why people like Ed Sheeran and Pink can still chart so well in Australia when their songs flop in literally every other region.
It is sad our radio networks don’t play Australian artists
They have been playing Cyril and Dean Lewis (separately, though they do have a collaboration which is a cover of a Crowded House song) recently, as well as Tones and I and Mia Wray to name a few.
If you want a heap of Australian music from Australian artists, you can always just go to Triple J.
