It’s also interesting to note that while Ava Max’s sophomore album “Diamonds and Dancefloors” debuted and peaked at #31 on the ARIA Albums chart very early last year, none of the singles on it charted here.

Same case with Maisie Peters whose sophomore album “The Good Witch” peaked at number four (as well as touring Australia to promote the album) despite her music rarely or never receiving any radio airplay here.

Compare that with Rosa Linn who’s yet to tour Australia despite her 2022 global smash hit “SNAP” being one of the most streamed songs that year (a few months ago, it cracked 1B streams on Spotify).

But IMO the biggest disappointment was David Kushner’s debut album “The Dichotomy” failing to chart here, nor chart inside the top 50 in the US or the UK, despite it spawning the massive hit “Daylight” (Australia peak #4) as well as his breakthrough hit “Miserable Man” charting well here in January 2022 (peaking at #36).

He was due to visit Sydney and Melbourne last November but pulled the pin due to “unforeseen circumstances”. He has yet to announce if or when he’ll make it up to those cities. But I fear he could soon slide into obscurity, like others have.
