Sorry but do you really need to ask this? It’s the vile content and mocking of disadvantaged people for a start. Just because a lot of people seem to find this not only acceptable, but actually funny, is a very sad indictment on them. Normalising this type of behaviour just because a lot of people listen, doesn’t make it right.

If it wasn’t high-rating and popular, it wouldn’t be as successful as it is. Nor would it have lasted as long as it has. You can condescend as much as you like, but fact is, people like it.

Noticed SCA stations used to have this back in the day. 92.9 nine always had a slighty higher pitch etc to the songs. Makes them shorter I guess?

It’s also a perception thing. If you hear a song which has been slightly pitched up on one station, and then hear the same song not pitched on another station, the station without the pitching sounds slower (dull, boring, sleepy, etc). SCA never used to do it, then Nova launched and were pitching their songs ever so slightly (almost unnoticeable, until you heard the unpitched version). To out-do Nova, SCA pitched their music up considerably more. KIIS do it too (likely because DB is there, and basically doing what 2Day did when they were #1).

The unfortunate thing is K&J may “bomb” in Melbourne, but I highly doubt ARN will ever remove them from KIIS101.1 - at least not whilst K&J are with the company.

Kyle will likely blame management for the failure & ARN will be forced to cough up millions of dollars for stronger Melbourne marketing.

If/when K&J leave KIIS101.1 breakfast, it will be the day K&J leave ARN.
