Judging from the private facebook group - she has had it today.
Lot’s of speculation going on that Jase is leaving and the show is ending, or that the producers have walked out. I doubt that though because the show is still heavily promoted on the air and they are actively hiring producers.
I’ve listened to a few breaks of Byron’s since he’s filled in… and he’s just not very good.
He comes in with almost no energy, and half of what he says it seems like he’s reading it of a piece of paper, but not well. When he talks to Clint coming out of the news, it dies however sound good. So maybe he’s just better in group setting
If it was, they deserve an award, because it sounded pretty genuine to me. I used to know Brooklyn (the newsreader) and could hear in his voice that he was completely thrown by what was happening.
Is Australian radio more loose than Nz? A guy talking to his co-host like to that, it would be all over the news sites and calls for him to be sacked, the advertisers on his station be boycotted etc etc. He’d probably be gone by tomorrow lol.
The podcast is 1 hour and 48 minutes (or something like that, can’t exactly remember). It normally is 2 hours and 20-30 minutes. Haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet, but indeed to later today (in regional VIC).
I have two questions:
Did Jackie O host the rest of the show alone, or did she host with Brooklyn (or even Lachy from Beauty and the Geek)?
Did the show finish early, is that why the podcast is shorter, or did they show more music/ads than normal (or even play best of stuff).
I’m not a regular KJ or 106.5 listener, but I tuned in at 8:30am fora bit. Jackie wasn’t there, it was possibly the day announcer? replaying a segment with Georgina Walker and Jackie which I assumed happened very shortly after the walkout.
Overall no. But Kyle and Jackie O is looser than any NZ show. Their ratings are too high and make too much money for ARN for them to try and reign them in.
