KIIS Network

No sign of the Mitch at Night show on 97.3 in Brisbane at this stage. Christian O’Connell hour still on-air at 7pm as per schedule.

I thought Kip didn’t want to do breakfast radio anymore because he’s now a single dad.
They must have offered him more money than Nova did

Mitch obviously starting at 7pm so they have live radio to go head to head with Hot Nights on the Hit Network.

Also interesting it has been rebranded to The Night Show (not KIIS Nights).

Here’s assuming they’ll network Mitch across the network.

Listened to Hot Nights and catched the end bit of The Night Show and I reckon Hot Nights will kill it in the ratings. The Night Show is just like having a voice-tracked announcer with very obviously pre-recorded guests. Should’ve kept with Mitch to Midnight and Jase & Lauren.

Keep in mind that Nova still own 50% of 97.3, it is possible that Kip moved across with Nova’s blessing.

Yes it is possible, but it still looks like he sat out his no compete clause to be able to start with 97.3 in Jan 2022.

I wonder if ARN will now buy out Nova ent’s 50% share to take full ownership of 97.3 after the sale of 4KQ?

That’s nice that Radio Yesterday have now found the lead they buried yesterday.

Good luck to ARN adding Kiis (sic) to the 97.3 brand. Brisbane people still refer to Big Rooster for Red Rooster. Most never noticed B105 change to Hit and back and many believe Energex is still their energy retailer.

Is that because Brisbane is stuck in the 70s?

Don’t you mean SEQEB?

Looks like new branding in Melbourne and in Sydney

Also, are KJ going national? I have noticed that the KIIS logo has not station number on now

I noticed that their new posters are more like Jase & Lauren’s as well.

They are already national. If Kyle has finally got his way and it’s replacing some local breakfast shows then I truly hope it backfires because if ARN can’t learn from SCA’s mistakes then clearly whoever’s in charge has no idea what they are doing.

Anyway, with that being said, let’s hope common sense prevails!

You’ve not been there lately clearly…

Yes, I think that’s why they’re almost doing it by stealth. People will still refer to it as 97.3 as you say. Identifying stations by the frequency is pretty common, particularly with FM, in Brisbane.

I’m thinking River will move to “pure gold” branding pretty quickly.
