I wonder how this will fit into the schedule given it cuts into the current announcers schedule (i.e Ryon Jon being 9AM-3PM). It ending at 2pm is also interesting as it leaves an hour before the 3PM pickup.

In other news, are Grant’s hit music stations considered to be part of the KIIS network now? I’ve noticed no changes as of yet but I’m sure there are plenty of internal changes.

I think this is going to be a Saturday show, not a weekday show.

Today’s announcement is that Robin Bailey has had COVID since New Years, so that’s the twist - she was unable to come back to work this week to do planning for the year, so rather than being back on air on Monday 17th, they’ll now start on Monday 24th.

But a new person is joining them. The announcement of that will be at 8am on Monday 17th.

Melbourne’s Jase and Lauren not returning until sometime February. Covid situation and Jase and his wife expecting their baby very soon could have something to do with it

It’s annoying that 96FM isn’t aligned properly to either Kiis or Gold. There is no interesting shows on 96. Overall, quite a boring station.

That’s pretty sad if it is, and shows the quality of some breakfast radio.

Other stations have breakfast hosts that don’t need to milk every last bit of their own personal drama.

When 97.3 are #1 FM and #2 in breakfast, I doubt ARN and Brisbanites have any qualms about that

That’s solely due to a lack of competition. You could throw a blanket over the four FM stations in Brisbane they’re so close.

And they’re being beaten in breakfast by an AM music station with hosts who don’t need to resort to personal dramas and sympathy ploys.

As part of the Grants/ARN merger, I remember reading that ARN aren’t allowed to change the programming lineup of the Grants stations for 2 years. Happy to be corrected on that.

That would be weird. I think they said something about removing the Nova and other syndicated content from other companies and replacing it with ARN content.

I mean there is probably a very valid reason that the show is being delayed.
And also it isn’t doing too bad in the ratings, KIIS 1011 has been struggling for longer then Jase & Lauren.

That would be part of the trigger rules on change of control. The rule you refer to is that staffing levels much remain at least the same as they were premerger, so they can’t go sacking staff left right and centre. Programming can change, and staff can be shuffled around, but the total headcount in each market must remain the same or higher.
