Considering how long they are dragging it out, this may just be the first guess who board…

Is Melbourne really hanging out this much to find out who is replacing a co host on a fairly unsuccessful breakfast radio show?

SCA are using that poster to work out who will be hosting the 2DayFM Breakfast Show in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

They have cut up the pictures and removed Sam Frost and Kyle and Jackie O from the pile. The rest went into a hat and they drew out three names at a time.

Dave Cameron and Gemma Fordham call it strategic planning.

Comment of the year right there!

So out of 24, 6 of them are in key shifts on rival networks. It’s almost like promoting the competition. Strange.

God I hope not. She wasn’t all that interesting when filming in on Fox.

It will either be an ex-batch contestant or rickki lee

PJs last day is next Friday. So it’s going to be a bit dumb to announce on Friday, then turn up on Monday and jump right in.

They should announced the replacement today, then spend next week having PJ and maybe some of the other team that get on air ‘interview’ them to see of they’re suitable for Jase, then getting to know them

I imagine Friday will be a ‘passing of the baton’ where we all meet the new co-host, and they tell PJ how big her shoes are to fill, PJ hae a cry as she talks about working with Jase for X years, then it’s “from Monday, a new way to wake up…”, followed by a weekend of high rotation promos.

Very few of these are viable contenders. Most are locked up in contracts with rival networks. It’s a bizarre strategy.

Sophie Monk.

Based on the Central Coast, and guess where Jase has been the last few weeks?

She’s not even on that list?

Yeah I fully expect that as well now.

But while the ‘Jase and PJ’ show will be ending, the newsreader, producers that come on-air, as well as Jase will be staying.
So I think they should have made it more as the show in continuing, with a bit more overlap with the new co-host to show that PJ has given her ‘nod of approval’ to the current audience.

Also it would have made next Friday all about it being PJ’s last day, rather than who the next co-host is.

Exactly! It’s become a bit of a farce.

My prediction: Whoever becomes Jason Hawkins’ new co-host will probably only remain on until the end of the year, with ARN (again) bringing in a new brekky team for KIIS 101.1 for 2022.

Sure, I’ll give Jase & PJ some credit for managing to be one of the longer running programs in the station’s recent history. But overall, the recent historical track record (last two decades) of breakfast shows on 101.1FM Melbourne isn’t great even though ARN have tried quite a few big name personalities over the years, including some previously on Fox FM.

Alan misses radio, does radio miss Alan? You betcha! The “Kings of Radio” are joining forces tomorrow morning.

Media Diary in The Australian is reporting that Jones may also be making an appearance on John Laws’s 2SM radio show later this week. Alan’s out for revenge, it seems, for being dumped by Nine and not receiving a fitting farewell.

2GB has paid him for the last thirteen months to sleep in every morning. I would have taken a farewell like that.
