KIIS Network

She’s not even on that list?

Yeah I fully expect that as well now.

But while the ‘Jase and PJ’ show will be ending, the newsreader, producers that come on-air, as well as Jase will be staying.
So I think they should have made it more as the show in continuing, with a bit more overlap with the new co-host to show that PJ has given her ‘nod of approval’ to the current audience.

Also it would have made next Friday all about it being PJ’s last day, rather than who the next co-host is.

Exactly! It’s become a bit of a farce.

My prediction: Whoever becomes Jason Hawkins’ new co-host will probably only remain on until the end of the year, with ARN (again) bringing in a new brekky team for KIIS 101.1 for 2022.

Sure, I’ll give Jase & PJ some credit for managing to be one of the longer running programs in the station’s recent history. But overall, the recent historical track record (last two decades) of breakfast shows on 101.1FM Melbourne isn’t great even though ARN have tried quite a few big name personalities over the years, including some previously on Fox FM.

Exactly!

Alan misses radio, does radio miss Alan? You betcha! The “Kings of Radio” are joining forces tomorrow morning.

Media Diary in The Australian is reporting that Jones may also be making an appearance on John Laws’s 2SM radio show later this week. Alan’s out for revenge, it seems, for being dumped by Nine and not receiving a fitting farewell.

2GB has paid him for the last thirteen months to sleep in every morning. I would have taken a farewell like that.

Alan Jones on Kyle and Jackie O?

I would never have guessed. Not in my wildest dreams.

I would have thought it was more likely to have found Alan shouting from a balcony in Austria than on KIIS FM at breakfast.

From today’s guesses, the co-host is female and is not Rikki-Lee

It’s going to be quite the anti-climax if its Lauren Phillips…

But look at all this free publicity this speculation has generated.

I’m going with Yyvie. Any one of those types are most likely (Coleman, Kent, Frost, Phillips, Chatfield)

I’m not that surprised.

Kyle and Alan as well as John Laws have always seemed to have a mutual respect for one another and they sound good on the radio together.

So the female options on the board are (ordered by probability):

  • Yvie Jones - My #1 guess. She seemed to do well when filling in on Fox. ARN like to get new talent that have proven themselves on other networks. Based in Melbourne.
  • Brooke Blurton - Now based in Melbourne. I wouldn’t rule it out.
  • Kate Langbroek - Already at the network so has to be considered, but I don’t think her style would match Jase.
  • Angie Kent - She has a podcast with Nova and the first season just finished, so it’s possible.

Highly Unlikely:

  • Lauren Phillips - The much speculated option. Rumour has it that their first choice fell through, so this would fit. Surely it would be less of a big secret if it was Lauren.
  • Sam Armytage - Sydney based. Can’t see it happening.
  • Sam Frost - Sydney based with regular Home and Away commitments

I’m ruling out:

  • Rikki-Lee Coulter - Eliminated today
  • Bec Judd - Eliminated on Friday (married to an AFL player)
  • Olympia Valance - Eliminated on Friday (dating an AFL player)
  • Jane Kennedy - Eliminated on Friday (professional comedian)
  • Carrie Bickmore - Currently on Hit Network Drive
  • Abby Coleman - Currently on B105 Breakfast
  • Abbie Chatfield - Currently hosts a podcast with Nova Podcasts
  • Danni Minogue - Just signed a contact with SCA/Listnr
  • Chrissie Swan - Currently on Nova 100 Breakfast
  • Fifi Box - Currently on Fox Breakfast

IIRC, Jase ruled out Sam shortly after they cut the initial list.

Really? I think she’s quite opinionated and would actually do a good job at not just being a second fiddle.

How nice to be able to listen to Hour of Power and hearing Gloria and Parrot plus his impersonator in Kyle Sandilands. I’m surprised no nuclear warnings sounded as two egos usually blows up when they converse.

Brooke is still filming The Bachelorette in Sydney and will only be able to join KIIS breakfast when it finishes.

The options left:
Yvie Jones, Fifi Box, Kate Langbroek, Lauren Phillips, Danni Minogue, Chrissie Swan

And if you rule out Chrissie and Fifi (for obvious reasons),
Yvie Jones, Kate Langbroek, Lauren Philips and Danni Minogue

‘Twas interesting that Jase “eliminated” Lauren Phillips (for not being a contestant on Bachelorette or Bachelor) and then was told by a producer to put her back in again… same with Yvie.
