We canât wait to serve up more of the Kayo experience with these big sporting events.
âThe team has built a fantastic product and platform that can deliver an average of 400 live streamed, high-definition events across any weekend. And as more and more Aussies stream content, we will continue to optimise the service to ensure we are always delivering the highest streaming quality possible.âWe are also working on the complex task of combining Kayoâs user viewing numbers with Foxtelâs OzTAM viewer data to show the combined reach for the purpose of engaging with advertisers.
âFor example, the Richmond v West Coast AFL match on 18 August reached an audience of 628,000 across FOX SPORTS, Foxtel Now and Foxtel GO, making it the third most watched Sunday game on Foxtel this season.# When you add Kayoâs 130,000 unique users, the Foxtel Group is reaching a very large and diverse audience,â said Mr Ogrin.
There are no overseas competitors that are likely to come and compete with streaming sport from Foxtel are there?
Thereâs always Amazon and/or DAZN who could decide to make a sports streaming play
Rugby World Cup marketing campaign
OWEN THE ORACLE
In 2010, a psychic octopus named Paul shot to fame by correctly predicting the result of every game of Germanyâs FIFA World Cup campaign. In 2019, there is a new oracle animal on the scene â Kayoâs Rugby World Cup 2019 predicting axolotl, Owen.
Kayo is set to kick off its Rugby World Cup marketing campaign next week and, following the success of the Cricket World Cup TVC, the campaign will be led by a new TVC starring Kayoâs very own âaxol-oracleâ.
Kayo CEO Julian Ogrin said: âThe Rugby World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events in the world, providing the perfect opportunity to demonstrate how people from all walks of life can get more out of their favourite sport with Kayo.
âThis campaign allows us to continue to grow awareness of Kayo, as well as build deeper knowledge about our offering and encourage customers to enjoy the ultimate World Cup experience with the additional features exclusive to Kayo.â
The TVC will feature Owen, the loveable psychic amphibian, whose fish tank has been conveniently positioned in front of the family TV, giving him the perfect view of all Kayoâs rugby coverage and allowing him to correctly predict the outcomes of World Cup games.
Owen is just one example highlighting that no matter who you are, youâll get more out of the Rugby World Cup with Kayo. Kayo will have every game of the World Cup LIVE and On Demand, instantly streamed to your favourite device. In addition, Kayo Minis will be available following the conclusion of every game, along with live stats and key moments accessible as the action unfolds.
Owen will be brought to life through a Facebook Messenger Chatbot, where he will become every rugby fans ultimate World Cup companion. Within Messenger, Owen will share his predictions, insights about teams and provide fans with useful rugby updates, garnered from watching so much rugby on Kayo from his conveniently positioned tank. The âOwen Predictsâ bot will be live on 12 September.
Kayoâs integrated campaign will be live from Thursday, 12 September and in addition to the TVC will include digital video, radio, press, social and digital performance marketing.
Iâve just canceled my subscription. It is great but with AFL winding up and cricket not starting until December its a little pointless. Its quite expensive to just have it and not use it. I can easily save myself $75.
Trevor Long shows how he legally accessed Fox Sports Australia via Kayo while he wasnât in Australia.
Yeah I did the same thing when I was in Europe the other month.
Kayo will provide split screen streaming of Bathurst 1000 this weekend, as shown on the full page ad in News Corp papers yesterday.
Kayo provides multiple additional streams for not just Supercars races but F1 and MotoGP as well
Theyâve also previously had multiple streams during the Test Cricket last summer - Spider cam was one of them. Also the Hindi language coverage by Sony was also available of the Indian test series.
Itâs awesome!
You can have alternative views on certain sports.
