2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Season kicks goals across Foxtel Group

Kayo’s ‘on hold’ vision has changed twice within a week. Went back to the music used during most of this year, but now they’re using the ‘No 4K Sport at the moment’ background video loop, but instead it says "More awesome sport is just moments away’. At least I think it’s the same; I’ve only seen the CG Steeden being kicked before it goes back to Fox Footy.

Moments? Usually days away at this time of the week.

A rare sight. Because the 3 (edit: 4) Fox Sports channels have live sport on, the Darts tonight was bumped to Kayo exclusivity. When they went to an ad-break…
There was no ad break, it was just this screen with minimal animation and with an almost inaudible music loop in the background.

Was Fox Sports 507 in use last night as well?

yes, i don’t remember what with, but it was definitely something LIVE when I looked at the foxtel TV guide

There’s 8, were they all unavailable? (C, L, 3, F, 5, 6, +, ++)

Short answer: Yes
Long answer: I’ve miscounted, there’s four general Fox Sports channels (I think my eyes skimmed over 503 when I checked the guide), but they were all showing other live sport. I don’t think ++ exists anymore, and I know for a fact the Darts coverage only had the Fox Sports logo with no channel number, which was a dead giveaway it wasn’t showing on Foxtel.

On Saturday mornings there are regularly 3 simultaneous UK super league games - often only 2 are shown live on foxtel due to not enough channels being available. All 3 games are shown live on Kayo.

Fox Sports 506 is the designated Bathurst Channel this week.

How come 506 isn’t just designated FOX Motor at this point?
It holds MotoGP and the competition around that, and has the F1 & Supercars.

I could be wrong, but I think they had plans to do this a long time ago a few years after Fox league was launched but it was ditched.

Just gives them more flexibility to use the channel if they need to.

Nov 1 2010 foxtel launched speed - a channel dedicated to motorsports on 505 - it lasted until Nov 2, 2014 when Foxsports 5 took its place

Yeah, and Fuel TV was the other channel that got turned into a Fox Sports channel around the same time.

Kayo Sports celebrates biggest ‘Summer of Cricket’ ever with Indian-inspired ‘Get On Board’ campaign

Kayo Sports has unveiled an Indian-inspired iteration of its ‘Get on Board’ campaign in anticipation of its biggest ‘Summer of Cricket’ ever. The 2024/25 Summer of Cricket is headlined by a battle between the top two Test sides, India and Australia, for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with every game of the Five-Test series live and in 4K on Kayo Sports.

Concepted and produced by BALBOA, the Foxtel Group creative agency, the campaign features the largest cast ever assembled for a Kayo Sports campaign and is packed with cricket talent including star athletes of today such as Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Alyssa Healy and Tanveer Sangha, cricket legends and Kayo Sports ambassadors Brett Lee and Adam Gilchrist, as well as talent from the Fox Cricket commentary team including Isa Guha, Ravi Shastri, Mark Waugh and Michael Vaughan.

Against a backdrop of ‘Little India’ converted from a former backlot movie set located in Western Sydney, the TVC also features professional Bollywood dancers and dhol drummers, celebrating Indian culture.

Kayo Sports Executive Director, Cate Hefele said: “Australia and India share a rich history in cricket and we wanted to celebrate this friendly rivalry through our latest ‘Get on Board’ campaign.

“Around four per cent of Australians are of Indian descent* and our new campaign gives us an opportunity to engage with this important demographic, highlighting that Kayo Sports will be home to what will be an epic Test series between Australia and India. The Kayo Sports coverage will be anchored by a dedicated commentary team featuring much-loved experts of the sport, and we’re also pleased to be including a Hindi feed on the platform to further deepen the connection we are building with India fans.”

BALBOA Executive Creative Director Guy Sawrey-Cookson said: “The Kayo Sports ‘Get on board’ campaign has been a huge success in opening up the brand to new sports fans across Australia. The objective of the new summer campaign was to get all cricket fans, from purists to passers by, to get on board our epic ‘Summer of Cricket’, headlined by the India series. To do this, we invited fans to join the best commentary team in the world, including Adam Gilchrist, in a float full of cricket and sports legends, towed around Australia by Brett Lee’s supercharged Rickshaw. In the words of Ravi Shastri, it was ‘Masti!’”

Other talent featured in the TVC include AFL’s Chad Warner, AFLW’s Ruby Schleicher, NRL’s Pat Carrigan and NRLW’s Tiana Penitani. Foxtel Group staff were also invited to feature in the crowd scenes along with their family and friends.

Guy continued: “Sport truly brings people together and what better way to engage our people with the upcoming series than inviting them to be part of the TVC and meeting cricket icons. It’s all part of working for Australia’s #1 sports streaming platform.”

The new ‘Get on Board’ campaign launched on Sunday 27 October and will feature on TV, radio, social and outdoor. The radio ads will also include spots in Hindi and Punjabi.

The Australia-India Test series kicks off on 22 November.
