First look at 4k streaming on Kayo today thanks to Fox League’s 4k coverage of the NRL from Vegas.
Looks pretty good comparing to my iq5 satellite box.
FYI, If you aren’t getting 4k res and you have a compatible device i.e Apple TV etc, you need to goto into kayo settings from the kayo home screen and select ‘upto 4k’ for the resolution.

I’m not sure whether they already do this but why don’t they allow you to either select a up to 4k or use an auto resolution setting?
that’s what they have in the second screenshot. Up to 4K, up to HD or up to SD.
Interesting though is I have the 4K this afternoon despite only being on the lower tier Kayo plan. Looks pretty impressive though but has had a few flickers at times in ads and things where I assume it’s changing different resolutions.

I’m assuming the Kayo 4K feed is essentially the FOXTEL iQ4/5 4K Channel 59x IPTV feed, possibly just with different ads?

Last time I tried Kayo’s HD was still poor compared with Foxtel. Has the HD bitrate/codec been improved?

Turns out only Fox Sports produced matches will be in 4K on Kayo for the 2024 AFL & NRL season.
Did they ever definitively say every match from those two codes would be 4K on Kayo, or was that everyone assuming it’d be the same as on Foxtel?

I’m very disappointed tonight. 
I assumed it’d be the same as Foxtel, given you can stream via the IQ boxes in 4K

Which stream? Because mine don’t run on 4K (but AFL/NRL etc do).
It can be tricky to find. You need to go into F1 Aus gp stream. This should be 4k and HD, if you can’t get the 4k stream then the device may not support it or check for any updates. It works for me, but I do have one device that won’t support the 4k streams.
