Kayo Sports

Correct

Footy Play is basically Fox Footy 504 with select games simulcast from Seven.

Footy Play Plus is for overflow matches, similar to what they use Fox Sports 505 for, with select games simulcast from Seven as well. So sometimes you get Fox Footy ad-free matches on Footy Play Plus and the Seven match on Footy Play :confounded:

503

I swear they used 505 for overflows?

Yep, this is pretty much correct. The Fox Footy channel on Kayo is blacked out with a static slide directing users to the game page during live games.

Pre-game, half-time and post-game coverage is from Fox Footy, with the feed hard switched to Seven whenever play starts, and vice-versa when switching out of it.

However, when a Seven-produced game is watched on-demand, the Fox Footy feed (with no ads, etc.) is the one that is shown; and replays on the Fox Footy live channel are shown as they would be on Foxtel.

No, Fox 504 is Fox Footy (almost all matches), and overflow is Fox 503 for AFL.

Today has shown one of the limitations of building a streaming service around live sport on linear channels - the Dodgers/Astros MLB game has gone to extra innings, which has delayed the Angels/Mariners coverage on ESPN - but Kayo is promoting both games as being live, but only offering coverage of the first game.

How come when I chromecast my Kayo, it delays it by a few minutes? Very frustrating

I haven’t done it for some time now, but Foxtel Now on my laptop used to delay by 30 minutes when I would Chromecast to my television. It was a known problem. Maybe it’s similar? On my mobile phone to Chromecast I’ve never had the problem.

It is so shocking tonight. Continues to log me out, buffering and delays… So much of a pain! I am paying $25 a month for a reason and expect the service I pay for

I’m watching the Knights give the Tigers a reaming on Kayo, Chromecast to my bedroom TV, no issues. Even in a room where WiFi isn’t always at its best. Clear as you can get, no stuttering or pauses.

Sounds like something wrong with your setup.

is it delayed?

I had no issues. It could be your internet connection. Are you in Melbourne?

Nope. Streaming smoothly .

I believe there are issues with Foxtel. Probably explains why Kayo is having technical issues too.

I noticed a few complaints on Twitter with the same issue as you.

I was watching the Knights game on my Computer (Chrome, Mac) - it dropped out a couple of times with a Kayo error message

Now watching Waratahs vs Reds on my laptop hooked up to a monitor and it’s smooth as well.

Anyone know what the deal is with these kayo ad slides? Been seeing them on loop during the footy tonight?

My stab in the dark, is it blanking out betting advertising? Kayo thinks I’m in Queensland for some reason.

Kayo sometimes substitute ad-breaks during Fox Sports broadcasts in order to show different ads and Kayo promotional spots. That holding slide airs when there’s time to fill whilst Fox Sports is still airing ads
