“I don’t like this V/O. He sounds very sleepy and subdued, makes me want to go back to bed. On the other hand, it’s notable they brought in someone who sounds very Black, it’s a sign of representation and authenticity.”
If that was your intended message, you did a fucking poor job of communicating it… on a media forum, no less… you know, talking about an industry where communication is the trade. You can toss off with the snowflake shitposting.
Sorry but the way you expressed your views comes off as you being negative about black people doing V/Os. I know it’s not intentional but it just sounds wrong.
In hindsight yes I should have made it clear my two points were completely unrelated. I use media spy on my phone and tend to write In bullet points.
But after I cleared up a few times what my intended points were I still had people trying to twist my words and tell me that they knew my intentions better than me
So you too can sod off with re-writing my sentences for me and trying to control a narrative. In 6-8 posts now I’ve made it abundantly clear what I was MEANING to say.
Media Spy has now become a place where not only people tell you your opinions are wrong but also where People now feel the need to tell you what to do and how to word posts.
I didn’t make the two points clearly separated granted, but it was others that rather than questioning what I meant presumed racism and were quick to attack and presume like keyboard warriors. There is no place for racism in 2020 / my boyfriend is black for the record - but being so fast to presume everything is Also a big problem in 2020. As is telling people what to do and how to speak.
I’m a moderator, so sometimes I have to tell people to move on. I know you don’t like being told you’re wrong as evidenced in this forum every day over the years, but seriously, at least try to move on.
I’ll leave your last post there for historical purposes.
Here’s another “alternative” national newscast – from 40 years ago. Produced at WPIX in New York, Independent Network News was carried by local stations across the U.S., including WGN:
The Chicago Tribune has a review of NewsNation’s first night. In summary, nothing groundbreaking with newscast format and had a tendency to let right-wing talking points go unchallenged.
