I think there will be plenty for him at 7. Starting with phasing him in as Dr Harrys repalcement on BH&G then if they already have the Bondi Vet rights a revival or similar show could be arranged and a better name than Chris’ Practice.
I’d expect him also on DWTS or similar and then regular appearances or expert appearances on shows like Sunrise and TMS with possible fill in hosting opportunities too.
The biggest thing for him is 7 has a lot more viewers than 10 but he has shown he can do serious to comedic type so theres a fair range he can be used for.
South Africa’s Triosphere is the production partner for the show. It provides over 350 local crew (Dr Chris said in his farewell speech last night that total crew is over 400).
You need to remember that first and foremost he is a vet. Since Bondi Vet and The Living Room finished up he really has no opportunities to work with animals on a regular basis. If I were in his position and was offered a chance to ‘go back to my roots’ then, hard as it may be to leave I’m a Celebrity, I would chose to do what I love most.
How do you know he’s ‘going back to his roots?’ Nothing has been announced.
I’m just saying hypothetically that if I was him I would prefer to do more animal/vet work.
He is a pretty private personal from what I can see, I don’t think he is one for doing it for the air time etc like many others do, so you might be right, ie wanting to scale the media work down a bit.
I reckon I would struggle with such a profile going back into Vet/Customer facing work. Everyone knows you, would drive me nuts.
What do you mean by lack of public awareness? Woody has the number 1 drive time radio show in the country. He has a massive support base behind him. This is why I thought he was definitely going to be in the final, as they are spruiking him up on the show constantly.
There are always a couple of anomalies with the voting on this show (and surprise early departures). The problem is that you have everyone up for elimination every vote - so it’s a big pool of people. Then when they go too eliminations every night of the week, you can just get bad luck one night given the votes are reset. I’m sure some people that left have had nights where they were towards the top of the voting and vice versa.
I would like to see something in the finale though… like give him a tucker trial. I would love to see that.
Julia and Chris have been an amazing duo on this show and I can’t imagine it any other way. There are big shoes to fill next year.
Remember that at the moment all he’s doing on Ten is I’m a Celeb. That’s a month of screen time and then he’s pretty much off air with Ten for the rest of the year (and who knows what will happen with The Living Room). So Seven have probably offered him some sort of gig as well as other opportunities (such as segments on Better Homes and Garden’s, Sunrise/Morning Show etc).
I’ve missed some of the episodes but I have an important question…did they ever find the butter?
The hosts said that the cameras revealed it was accidentally thrown out. However Dicko also claimed it was in his back pack when he left as a joke.
Previous winner announcements
That clip is wrong…at 1.10 it shows Yvie winning the show against Richard Reid…but it was the other way around…Perhaps two endings taped and the wrong one in archives?
Wow, well spotted. Richard Reid did win that year, so am surprised that they showed Evie winning, and kept that in that clip.
The tweet seems to be gone now so assuming they realised the error…
I always assumed the winner was announced live. I’m a bit disappointed that this doesn’t appear to be the case.
Usually live (except COVID) but it was pre-recorded in 2019 because
Speculation from Sunday Herald Sun’s Fiona Byrne about Chris Brown’s replacement for next year.
Comedian and radio host Joel Creasey deserves to be considered. The fact that he has previously been a contestant on the show would presumably work in his favour.
Darren McMullen is a brilliant live TV host and is a favourite of Ten’s although his last show The Real Love Boat sank. Tim Campbell is better known as a singer these days, but he has TV hosting experience (Wheel of Fortune) and was a Home And Away star.
Rob Mills, Sammy J , Dave Thornton, Shane Crawford and The Project’s Sam Taunton are others who could fit the bill.
Becoming the face of a network, second only to Sonia Kruger, wouldn’t exactly be the best way to scale back attention.
Gee, is that a list of people who are unlikely to be doing it? Anyone can just list names.
That list is ridiculous
It was also missing Miguel from Season 6. A very clumsy clip.
The show already has an established audience, I think 10 will go for a low budget up-and-comer. Not to say they will be any less talented. A high budget /big name won’t pay dividends.
Similar approach to The Project’s recent exodus.
