Woody Whitelaw Farewelled From The South African Jungle.
In tonight’s shock elimination, it was Radio Host Woody Whitelaw who unplugged his mic and left his jungle family behind.
But first, tonight’s all-in celebrity trial was a headscratcher for our campmates with them having to choose an ex-jungle buddy in the hope to answer a mix of trivia questions correctly. For each incorrect answer, it was a grotesque dunkathon. And unfortunately, you would never use these celebs as a lifeline with the remaining campmates walking away with only a piddly 2.5 stars.
Back at camp, Nathan was sick of the unclean queen Aesha who hadn’t washed her hair in who knows when. Cue When Harry Met Sally moans and “I’ll have what she’s having” retorts.
Speaking of queens, Network 10’s news queen Sandra Sully beamed into camp with news of the world and news from home. With videos and pics flashing before them of their loved ones there wasn’t a dry eye in camp.
Racking up an outstanding one million votes so far this season, the biggest in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! history, it’s evident this year’s campmates have really struck a cord with viewers which made it doubly sad that Dr Chris Brown and Julia Morris dropped the bombshell that Woody Whitelaw was to leave the camp immediately.
Creating the world’s most annoying radio jingle for his Wood with Woody woodpile chats, Woody got down deep with the celebs and got to the heart of their stories. He also had a ringside seat to Domenica and KAK’s food trial showdown and quizzed the bejesus out of Adam about AFL.
All celebs are in tomorrow night’s Ramp It Up trial and we’ll farewell not one, but two celebs in a double elimination!
I was surprised Woody left. I had literally just finished saying I predict Woody and Harry for top 2. I also wasn’t keen on Woody going in initially, however he was one of my faves by the end.
Lack of public awareness for him might have put him behind the likes of Liz and Aesha. Harry also suffers from under exposure, didn’t even know who he was until this. Those 30 and above should know who Liz Ellis is.
Liz and Aesha seem favourites to make it to the end.
Prior to tonights double elimination, there was a tribute to Dr Chris Brown. As we all know, he is leaving the show and 10 on Sunday night. There was a montage of his hosting duties. And Brown also gave a nice touching farewell speech. (He didn’t want to do the tribute on Grand Final night)
It all felt real with that. I wasn’t expecting it then but then realised it was the perfect spot for it so that it wouldn’t detract from Sunday’s finale or from the eliminations tonight.
As it started we could tell that Julia was losing it pretty early on but it was great to hear how it all started again and they were quite the TV odd couple but there was genuine chemistry which will be hard to replace. You could also tell that there is a whole genuine connection between them with the way he put his arm around her at times to comfort her when she was losing it. His words and thanks were great. Surprised when they made the crack about the logie at the end that there wasn’t another shot at 7 hosting them this year.
The auditions and the little jabs at him and 7 were great through the series. It will be tough for them to find a replacement but I’m glad that they’re committed to the show going on still and you could tell it’s definitely been a highlight for Chris’ life.
Triple The Tears For Farewelled Campmates And Dr Chris Brown.
Adam Cooney And Nathan Henry Farewelled From The South African Jungle.
There wasn’t a dry in the treehouse tonight with both the shock of the double elimination seeing Adam and Nathan farewelled from camp, but we also said goodbye to our beloved Dr Chris Brown. In true style, our favourite (and only) jungle vet didn’t want to step on the toes of this season’s jungle king or queen and opted to share a few parting words tonight instead.
In the most unofficial Australian quiz ever, campmates grilled non-Aussies Aesha and Nathan about what makes Australians Australian. They even attempted to answer the age-old question of whether the pav is Aussie or Kiwi. Aesha nearly threw the camp log over but eventually settled on the correct answer – of course the pavlova is Australian!
All celebs headed into tonight’s Ramp It Up trial which saw them flung into the air on boogie boards to grab stars. Of course it was the most fun they’d had at trial without a creepy crawly or sluggish smoothie in sight. Full stars all round!
Then it was time to celebrate our beloved Dr Chris Brown. Leaving not a dry eye in the house, Julia Morris did her best to keep it together, but her voice cracking and eyes watering represented those of no doubt most of Australia. In a fitting tribute, the TV Week Logie Award winning performance will surely go down in the history books and win them another statue. Surely!
Sadly, it was time to farewell camp’s favourite duo, Adam and Nathan. The rock-solid friendship that formed over the past four weeks in camp was evident when the pair ‘wed’ in a commitment ceremony and Australia got to know Adam as more than the Brownlow medal winner and Nathan as more than a member of Geordie Shore.
Sunday night, you Australia will decide who will be crowned king or queen of the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! South African jungle. Will it be Queen Aesha, King Harry or Queen Liz? Tune in Sunday to find out!
Seven is airing Bondi Vet repeats at the moment. Wouldn’t surprise me if they revive the show too, as well as having him front some of their new and established primetime shows.
