I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

Seems this is a better way to announce it now rather than having gossip, rumours, spoilers until Upfronts etc.

Just another format for 7 to f**k up!

They probably want all the speculation, it keeps people talking about it.

The AI-generated announcement video was a bit of a joke though.

I’m predicting 7 will not renew the Voice. They will move idol to later in the year and put I’m a celebrity against MAFS.

They may as well try something new against MAFS, as good as Idol is, it will never win.

Just by being on 7, I’m a celebrity will get a healthy audience bump.

This is just replacing Big Brother which they lost

I think the Seven could use this refresh to bring in some new hosts. Not a Chris or Sonia, but some younger talent. Scott and Ricki Lee work really well for them on Idol. Could Ricki do both? She also did another show I’m sure.

I’d like to see someone like Melanie Bracewell be given a show like this to host.

Ricki-Lee does breakfast radio here in Sydney. I doubt she could commit to both shows and keep that up.

Nikki Osborne?

Clearly Dr Chris Brown has signed a NDA about this

He made it sound like Seven had tried to ppach the show for a few years. I wonder if they trird to grab the rights when he moved to Seven but couldn’t so then had to give him flop renovation shows to do.

Nikki Osborn with Robert could work. But I really hope they keep Julia involved

BT would be hilarious

I’m a big fan of I’m a Celeb and I think this is great for the show.

I love the show, but it had started to become a bit stale and repetitive. They’d also probably reached the bottom of the barrel in terms of talent pool available to Ten.

I think this is a really exciting opportunity to rejuvenate the show.

As stated by others, if they air the show in October/November 2027 that gives audiences almost a two year break and to increase their appetite.

Hopefully Seven can refresh the show with an increased budget and production values, and access to a new pool of talent through the SCA Network ecosystem.

They should try to do what Dancing With the Stars has done in the US. Bring new life to a staple show loved by older audiences, by making it compelling must watch live viewing for the younger generation. Boost social media engagement. Make it so audiences have to tune in live so they don’t miss out on the content that will be driving tik tok trends and their social media feed subsequently.

If they keep Robert and attract some Australian stars well known abroad, I could even see this having international appeal.

American audiences who know none of the stars on I’m a Celeb have posted on social media previously starting they want to be able to watch. Despite not knowing the Australian celebrities they want to see Rob Irwin in action as a host.

OH COME ON. He pushed Daryl Somers out (which the network conveniently spun as Daryl ā€œretiringā€) to take over Dancing with the Stars, and when that didn’t exactly go to plan, they kept giving him more and more roles to try and justify the decision — including Portelli’s project.

That said, I’m sure SCM will be ā€˜proud as peacocks’ if this all works out for them, because it means they won’t have to (Com)cast their net quite so wide looking for future financial stability.

I don’t think they will move Idol given they have announced the audition stuff at the end of the grand final. So if they are doing it as same timeline as before with auditions in September etc then Idol will be start of the year

You must be kidding! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: They’ll probably film on the UK set at Dungay Creek in New South Wales or on the Gold Coast with Dr Chris and Sonya Kruger. Probably pre-recorded too!

Why does McGarvey’s name always come up when there is a Channel 10 stuff up? (and there have been many recently). I’m sure if 10’s American (right wing trump loving) owners gave 10 the money for this show and others McGarvey and other staff involved would be pleased to keep making them. The reality is Paramount Skydance doesn’t give a damn about 10 and they’ll keep on losing shows to, probably 7, (9 have more experience in making their own shows) until, they 10, don’t exist anymore.

As for those hoping 7 will put more money into this show, isn’t Seven West Media in approx, $300 million debt?

Beverly was there long before Paramount took over. And why does her name always get mentioned? Because she’s the boss!

Ok, but 10 have had shit owners for ever. Don’t you think, as I wrote, if they were provided with the money they would have kept this show and others, plus got some top sport? Everyone can get excited by 7 getting I’m a Celebrity, I’m not, they ruin almost everything they touch. 10 made the Big Bash into a top competition 7 has ruined it! Not to mention what they did to Big Brother.

Can’t wait to see how they will restructure the show to give it their own ā€œspinā€ in creating drama and scripted narratives - they will want to do this so they will pre record it and try to get commercial arrangements out of it. They did it with BB and turned a natural progression show into a scripted, dramatic, overly produced program. Oh and with the challenges I expect them to take courses from Wipeout and Survivor… you watch.

I think they will air it Q1. However would love to see it in November.
