It makes you wonder though. Where did the money come from they used to bid for the NRL? And secondly, seeing as they didn’t get the rights then there theoretically should be a large increase in programming commissions.
They barely figured in the NRL race though - but I suspect the money would have been guaranteed by Paramount global (even if they knew it was unlikely), that doesn’t necessarily flow back into other content
Given she’s been the heart and soul of the show for 13 seasons I think Julia deserves the opportunity to host it again, if she wishes.
Would love to see her hosting again with Rob, or Dr Chris if Rob’s schedule no longer allows

They may also try to do an all-stars version bringing back former Kings and Queens of the Jungle as well as runners up and third place contestants.

I think Rob will depend on when 7’s filming and airing the show.
They didn’t bid for the rights at all. There was only minimal talk they could’ve been involved with fox if the 9 thing didn’t work out. That wasn’t any sort of formal bid. They never made a whole of rights bid like they did with the AFL. My feeling is paramount sky dance want to rid themselves of 10.
One would obviously think summer or Q1, where the show once largely worked well. However hard to see Seven attempting that, unless cricket and/or Idol are impacted.
Does pose a question for Voice or MKR next year though, unless they all move around, including Farmer and Idol. Assuming SAS goes.
When they considered bidding, a lot of that money would have been forecast to come back as revenue if they obtained the NRL rights. It doesn’t mean they have that much cash to invest in a reality format that wouldn’t generate anywhere near as much from sponsors/advertising.
They have likely only just secured the rights and jumped straight into announcing it. I’m guessing that most of the details (from hosts, to format, to scheduling etc) are still being worked through.
So we can only really speculate at this stage but I just can’t imagine them grabbing an established format and then doing it on the cheap. Ten’s recent season was heavily critcised for being pre-recorded. If they want hype around a relaunch of the show, then a live format is the only way. Otherwise it could fizz out quickly.
I know the promo shows Africa (so it probably will be filmed there) but that could be stock footage if they just secured the rights. They will most likely go down that route but if they wanted a point of difference or fresh start for the show, there are a few other active filming sites in the world at the moment including Panama, Australia and even the Dominican Republic. Any of those could have been a new angle to take the show. I’d even be ok with it being in Australia if that meant it was live.

I’m guessing someone from the current season of Farmer will be on the show… hence the timing of the announcement. There’s a good chance Dr Chris and Julia reunite to host the show. If not Julia then Sonia.
They could, although unlikely, launch it on the Saturday of the AFL Grand Final in September

No doubt it’ll be Sonia and Chris. They need to justify her salary seeing as she only does one show now.
Can 100% say Seven won’t do this live. They hate live tv these days.

They do Australian Idol live every year and just had a live finale for My Reno Rules so there is a possibility it could be live.

So Chris Brown heading back? 
they might keep Julia and try and keep that old chemistry but maybe viewers prefer Robert? No doubt they throw Sonia Kruger in to host instead. Expect a bunch of Home and Away stars to go in. Maybe Humphrey B Bear?
So expect to see a 7AFL commentator, someone from Triple M, possibly Shirvo or someone on Sunrise… it will be full of network personalities!

It had been reported that Robert Irwin had too many obligations and maybe didn’t want to keep doing I’m a Celebrity. If that’s the case, then they can get Dr Chris Brown. But I think Seven would prefer Julia and Robert.
