Hunted

That should mean season 3 finale of Hunted will air on Sunday, 8 September.

After last night’s episode I think I’m done with this show, it’s too rigged in favour of the Hunters.

The stolen banknotes detected by the ferry and reported immediately… then the bus the driver let them ride for free so not to be tracked but 2 tradies just happen to confirm which bus and time and where they were going…

Then the Hunters only know the others went to Torquay so they immediately get CCTV of all street cameras, all day long, and just happen to also immediately spot them on it, lol.

It wasn’t immediately they explained that it was turned in by the ferry company to the bank and the bank found it was from the robbery (this part obviously fake but showing viewers how it would work irl) so the hunters were 24 hours behind.

in Melb don’t care if people tap on or off. I think they even got rid of the top up machines inside the buses. So I think the bus driver was doing what he would probably normally tell his normal passengers.

This wasn’t immediate. When watching they mentioned that the girls were seen on CCTV around 9-9:30am but when the hunters actually arrived at the brow salon it was after 3pm as seen on the hunters phone.

I think to stop viewers questioning things like ‘it’s rigged etc’ they should have timestamps for things (every time they show HQ or the hunters car etc) . If I hadn’t spotted the time on the phone, I would of thought the same that it was unrealistic etc

And it’s not like the ferry company is a small business either. They would likely have a daily pickup by Armaguard or similar, and given the large volumes of cash they handle and the need for the amounts to be verified, they’re more likely to have systems in place which automatically count the notes and check for counterfeit notes, with serial numbers playing a part in that.

Tonight’s episode was partly filmed at a Marty Fields gig at the Comics Lounge in North Melbourne. The gig took place on March 6, the 10th day of this escapade, meaning it began on February 26.

Why is everyone so happy to let these random people “looking for fugitives” come into their house to look around. No ones thought to ask them for ID or if they have a search warrant  Maybe since they turn up with a film crew it seems legit

I’d say it must be a requirement or something  Ordinarily you’d have people who would refuse to be questioned , not be home, slam the door closed etc.

Seems if you’re a genuine fugitive on the run pretending you’re on Hunted would be perfect cover.

On tonight’s episode, Andy and Deb stayed at a stranger’s house in Guys Hill, a rural locality a few kms up the road from Berwick in Melbourne’s south east. However, the map shown on the screen put Guys Hill in the middle of Mornington Peninsula.

Well no wonder they can’t be found; they are looking in the wrong spot.

According to the promo shown tonight, the extraction would take place at Williamstown Marina in Melbourne’s west. And someone would be caught before the extraction.

Looks like they all travel with a producer / cameraman

How are you just working this out now?

I personally knew that already since it’s obvious they all have a camera person following them, but this is the first time they let that be revealed on the show (well maybe not, I fast forward a lot of it) but they clearly cut out when a tip line caller was explaining what he saw, they cut out part of the conversation which I assume would be where he said he suspected them because they were being followed by a camera crew.

I do wonder where the crew sleeps every night and if they get swapped around so they aren’t working 20 days without a break.

In a lot of the footage of the fugitives in cars last night, especially the rear facing shots, it was more obvious than normal that they were being tailed by a second car (Mitsubishi Pajero Sport) which no doubt had a camera person, producer, possibly driver etc.

Mahindra is a major sponsor of this season (it also sponsored I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here earlier this year) and provided all the SUVs for the ground hunters.

There are obviously rules that need to be agreed to from people that are helping the fugitives. i.e. If you agree to let them stay in a private residence, they probably sign some waiver where they agree to let Hunters be able to search if they come. It’s like how the contestants always say that they are “Fugitives on the run” to people in public but I’m sure they also mention that it’s for a TV show but that is edited out.

We already know this. There is obviously a cameraman with them and we’ve seen them in CCTV footage on the show many times. Clearly this is why they stand out or are memorable to many people in the public (like that crane operator in one of the earlier episodes or some stores visited by contestants) because it’s not every day you see people running down the street with cameras attached to them and someone filming them.

The main thing with this show that could be improved in my opinion is the editing. Most episodes focus on 1 or 2 of the teams and generally one of those end up being caught. So when one team gets a big focus on an episode you know there is a good chance they are getting captured. Only a handful of times do they actually escape if the episode has a real focus on them. You can get quite far into the season and some of the teams have had minimal airtime.

I think it would be much better to be more day by day rather than just the odd insertion of how far in it is. A bit of a summary of what each team are doing or where they are each day as it progresses would be good. They do every now and then show a map but it’s often breezed over and it really could be any point in time. I guess the reason they do it this way is because the timelines when they are captured are not necessarily in order and they edit it so that every 1 or 2 episodes someone gets captured. Also I guess there could be multiple days where not a lot happens.

These photos were taken at Serenity Massage and Spa in Ascot Vale early March, where Akec and Joe had their massages in Sunday’s episode. Joe paid with the stolen cash, and when the staff deposited the takings at a bank in Moonee Ponds the next morning, it alerted Hunter HQ, and eventually led to the capture of Akec and Joe later that day.

When does Hunted finish?
