First look of season 3 aired tonight during MasterChef Australia. It appeared to show teams breaking into a fake office looking for cash.

Is it going to end up sacrificed against the Olympics or will 10 hold it back until after, especially with Q3&4 missing a couple of formats from last year like The Traitors and Masked Singer?

I thought 10 were running Dessert Masters during the Olympics.

Hunted normally only goes for something like 3 weeks so they may squeeze it in before the Olympics.

That would probably be better counter programming and launching it off the back of Masterchef gives it a better platform than later in the year.

Hunted’s Mind-Blowing Twist.

Hunted: The Million Dollar Heist. After The Olympics On 10 And 10 Play.

Australia’s real-life extreme game of hide and seek, Hunted returns with a mind-blowing twist, full of heart-pounding excitement and breathtaking suspense that’ll keep you on the edge of your seats.

Nine pairs of ordinary Australians turn into shrewd Fugitives, with their eyes on the prize – one million dollars – which is being held at the Savings Bank of Ballarat. It’s a modern-day bank heist as the Fugitives break into the bank and steal the money, before making their getaway to disappear without a trace.

The goal is to make it to the extraction point in 20 days, all while evading capture from the Hunters, a team of some of the best investigators formally of the AFP, ADF, and British Intelligence, as well as special operations and cyber security experts.

These dedicated, experienced, and sharply trained Hunters must use their arsenal of tools to capture the Fugitives at large. They must be ruthless in their conclusions, masterful in their tactics, and relentless in their captures.

The Hunters will stop at nothing to outthink, outsmart, and outrun the Fugitives striving to escape.

If they evade capture, the money is theirs to keep.

So the story for season 3 actually began in Ballarat, but the hunt started when the van carrying the teams (who had stolen the money) arrived in Geelong.

I’m calling it now with $1 mil on the line for the prize, no one will win this year.

Looks like former AFLW player Akec Makur Chuot is a contestant in season 3. Saw a post on Instagram tonight.

Isn’t it only how much they can carry on them…? so no one would win $1 mil anyway.

Considering how skewed the show often seems to be in the Hunters favour it’s probably in coins rather than notes anyway.

And despite each pair having $100k in cash on them they probably still have to use an ATM so they drop a pin anyway.

(From TVCynic’s screencap of 10’s promo showcasing upcoming programs in the next three months)

The fictional Savings Bank of Ballarat is actually the Courthouse Theatre at Federation University’s SMB (School of Mines Ballarat) campus. Next door is the former Ballarat Gaol.

Australia’s real-life game of cat and mouse, Hunted: The Million Dollar Heist , returns on Monday, 12 August at 7.30pm on 10 and 10 Play for a third season with a new look, a new Chief and a mind-blowing twist.

This season we meet nine pairs of ordinary Australians who, right before your eyes, transform into real life fugitives and undertake the unthinkable – a bank robbery.

It’s a modern-day bank heist as the Fugitives break into a bank and steal the money, before making their getaway to disappear without a trace. Their goal is to make it to the extraction point in 20 days and if they evade capture, the money is theirs to keep.

Hunted HQ has a new Chief at the helm. With over 20 years of experience in the Australian Defence Force and having been awarded the Order of Australia for services to the special operations community, Reece Dewar, OAM, steps up to lead the charge.

Reece’s dedicated, experienced, sharply trained team of Hunters must use their arsenal of tools to capture the Fugitives at large.

Australia’s most wanted Fugitives include Gen Z friends from Queensland coined the Dangerous Duo, Jayde and Tayla; recently engaged Queensland couple, Joanna and Lee; NSW father and daughter duo, Tanisha and Bobby and down to earth country girls, Romanee and Chelsea, who will all be going in with a solid plan to elude the Hunters.

Joining them on the run will be Andy and Deb from South Australia. Deb’s father was a criminal safe cracker spending 20 years on the run – will she inherently know some tactics that she can use? Andy and Deb will need to keep up with thrill seekers Ondeane and Shelli from Western Australia; while Victorian married couple, Ben and Luke are poised to make their mark on this ultimate adventure.

Friends from NSW, Kaylie and Tony, have speed, street smarts and are constantly thinking ahead while Victorian friends, Akec and Joe will do whatever it takes to make it to the final extraction point.

Meet The Fugitives

Season 3 of Hunted returns with a new look, a new Chief and a mind-blowing twist.

This season, we meet nine pairs of ordinary Australians who, right before your eyes, transform into real-life Fugitives after planning and undertaking the unthinkable – a bank robbery. On a scale never seen before, this heist is full of heart-pounding excitement and breathtaking suspense that’ll keep you on the edge of your seats.

For the first time ever on Hunted, the Fugitive teams are initially split in half; a team of nine “robbers” and a team of nine “planners”. The robbers will together plot the grand bank heist and will creep out into the night to steal from a bank in Ballarat in the early hours of the morning.

Meanwhile the “planners” plan the all- important getaway. The Ballarat Bank holds $1 million dollars in it, with the entire loot up for grabs. Whatever the Fugitives can steal, they will divide amongst themselves. If they make it to the extraction point, that will be their prize money.

Once the robbery is completed, the Fugitives jump into a getaway car taking them to Geelong, where they hope to reunite with their teammate before going on the run. These nine Fugitives teams have one crucial goal – to remain undetected from the eyes and ears of the expert Hunters for 20 days.

Hunted HQ has a new Chief at the helm. With over 20 years’ experience in the Australian Defence Force and having been awarded the Order of Australia for services to the special operations community, Reece Dewar steps up from Deputy to lead the charge. He oversees a team made from some of Australia’s most highly skilled cyber and intelligence specialists, alongside some of the world’s best investigators, including those formerly of the Australian Federal Police, Australian Defence Force, and British Intelligence. These dedicated, experienced, and sharply trained Hunters must use their arsenal of tools to capture the Fugitives at large. They must be ruthless in their conclusions, masterful in their tactics, and relentless in their captures.

With their reputations on the line, the Hunters will employ any means possible to track the Fugitives down. Based at Hunted HQ and with four teams of stealthy Ground Hunters on the road (Team Alpha, Team Bravo, Team Charlie and Team Delta), the Hunters will use cutting-edge technology to analyse various intelligence. They’ll simulate the powers of surveillance available to the state, such as CCTV, ANPR (automatic number plate recognition), telecommunication information and access to bank and phone records. For the first time, they will also have access to cutting-edge, brand-new AI technology. They will be able to search Fugitives’ homes, data-mine their electronic equipment and question family, friends, and associates.

Filmed entirely within greater regional Victoria, the scheming Fugitives will again need to be at the top of their game to evade capture. The nine Fugitive teams include cousins, friends, couples and a father/daughter duo – all who are ready to run and all who hope to make it undetected right to the final Extraction Point.

With over 4,000 applications submitted, the latest instalment of Hunted is again, a format of grand proportions – the crew includes 115 in the field and 70 more in post-production. High-tech and high-spec, 96 cameras are used across the hunt, including two helicopter live streams, 64 action cams, 26 shooter producer cameras, one night vision thermal drone and six cameras across HQ.
