Good. Hopefully it does well and 10 don’t milk it over too many (too long) episodes. Our latest UK series finished last week and seven series in it still provides one of the best finales in reality TV there is.

The Manhunt Begins.

Hunted. Premieres Sunday, 17 July At 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play.

Get ready for Hunted, one of the most anticipated fly-on-the-wall series of 2022, starting Sunday, 17 July at 7.30pm on 10 And 10 Play.

In this real-life game of cat and mouse, 18 ordinary Australians will go on the run from a team of expert Hunters. As paranoia sets in, our Fugitives must go to great lengths to evade capture for 21 days. Where will they hide? Who can they trust?

Flying under the radar to avoid detection from the Hunters is no easy feat, with some of the country’s top experts working to track their every move.

As the Fugitives criss-cross the state of Victoria, the Hunters’ net will tighten around them. Those who manage to outsmart the Hunters and make it to a final Extraction Point will win a share of the $100,000 prize money.

Filmed entirely in Victoria, CEO of production partner Visit Victoria, Brendan McClements said: “We’re all about doing things differently at Visit Victoria, so as soon as we heard the premise of this exciting new format, we wanted to be part of it – to support the state through its recovery and encourage Australians to return.”

This gripping series provides access-all-areas to both sides of the pursuit that plays out like a real-life thriller.

Hunted is produced by Endemol Shine Australia for Network 10.

Drive in Cinema activation in Qld this Friday 8Th July at Tivoli, well before it airs on 10 on the 17th July.

Can also win front row park by tuning into Marnie and Campo on River 94.9.

Interesting that the show was filmed in Victoria, but the first public screening will be held in Ipswich.

This article from The Age Green Guide yesterday provides more information on the show.

Nine pairs of fugitives, each on the run with a camera operator/ground producer in tow. A follow team for each pair, each with its own camera operator. Five additional teams of ground hunters, each with camera operator. There are cameras too in the HQ where 22 investigators – cyber security experts, former detectives, social media hackers, database wranglers – track everything on a huge video monitor.

All up, Benson (EndemolShine director of content Marty Benson) says, there were feeds from 27 cameras, plus the bodycams worn by everyone in the field as back-up. All up, they harvested 93 days’ worth of footage, at 24 hours a day, which had to be edited into a tight nine-episode season.

Any time a fugitive dropped a breadcrumb – by making a phone call or crossing in front of a CCTV camera or withdrawing cash from an ATM (each pair had $200 in cash and $300 in the bank for their 21 days) – the team could request access to that footage or information in order to try to locate them. (Because the producers don’t have authority to actually request that footage, it is reproduced on the run by having the camera operator place a Go-Pro where the closed-circuit camera would be, using a selfie stick. That footage is then uploaded via WhatsApp, and is available to the team at HQ within minutes.)

The hunt had rules, including downtime overnight for both pursuers and escapees, everyone worked 10-hour days, seven days a week for the 21 days of the shoot.

Release The Fugitives.** **Hunted. One Week To Go.

Premieres Sunday, 17 July At 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play.

Australia’s real-life game of cat and mouse is about to begin when 10’s thrilling edge-of-your-seat series, Hunted, premieres Sunday 17 July at 7.30pm on 10 and 10 Play.

This fly-on-the-wall series follows nine teams of Fugitives who go on the run from a team of expert Hunters. They must stay on the move and attempt to throw the Hunters off their scent. The Fugitives can run anywhere in Victoria and how they evade capture, is up to them. Can they disappear without a trace?

The Fugitives are released on to the streets of Melbourne’s CBD with an overnight bag and five hundred dollars. They must be cunning and resourceful, some will seek help from friends, family and complete strangers. Where will they hide? Who can they trust?

Trying to track their every move is the team at Hunted HQ - an elite team of investigators with backgrounds in the Australian Federal Police, Defence Force and British Intelligence. Their reputations are on the line. Leading them is The Chief, Former Detective Superintendent David Craig, an internationally recognised expert in surveillance and covert operations.

Also pursuing the Fugitives are the Ground Hunters, strategically placed around Victoria, all with extensive military and police backgrounds.

If the Fugitives can evade capture for 21 days, they will win a share of $100,000.

With one week to go until Hunted begins, it’s time to meet the Fugitives.

There was a good cross promotion on the project tonight. I was at my retired parents place and they saw it and said oh we should watch this.

I rarely watch anything on FTA and I’ll be watching this on Sunday night. Dunno if I can commit to 3 nights a week, so will probably have to catch up. Hopefully it’s on P+.

I got an email early this morning from 10 play with a link for a exclusive early screening for the first episode, i’m 45 mins in so far and it’s great.

Hunted Preview

From the preview it looks like one of those simulated escape video games on PS4 or the Xbox, except that you’re watching it as a reality show. Interesting show.

Watching the preview and thank goodness we’re getting different/fresh reality concepts. Endless new seasons of Bachelor and Masterchef, year in year out, have really become boring. Imagine this will rate in a similar way to a show like SAS Australia, but still very interested and will probably watch it all.

I hope they are rewarded with good ratings for this. Taking a gamble on a new format and it should be rewarded than the same old crap

Huge thanks for sharing. I was very popular at home tonight being able to screen this since we’ve got other plans on Sunday night.

Lots of thoughts about the production… (spoiler alert)

I’m angry about how unrealistic this show is. Being able to track a base model car in a matter of seconds using technology which isn’t available in that car is just wrong. Given the contrived nature of how the tracking and surveillance is provided to the hunters means the producers can just decide they have access to data that usually wouldn’t be available, or wouldn’t be available so quickly.
