One of the voiceovers from Kate said that it sucked they had to move the playhouse, but it would be moved to the other side.
I was waiting to see where they moved it to but they didnât bother showing that.
When the judges inspected the cabana, the cubby house had not been moved to the other side in time.
I mentioned this yesterday. LLB said House Rules was a massive commitment (he had to fly frequently between England, Australia and Singapore where he is part of another renovation show) and he also had a big family.
Itâs quite obvious costs were cut throughout the series from the judges not returning to Home Base for the first five rounds of the main makeovers to Jo taking over narration duties, plus overall it just felt like there was a lower budget overall (far fewer VTs of them in the car, shopping, on their week long holidays etc).
Overall though still an enjoyable series, though the standard of work seemed to be way down on previous series where 10s were pretty much thrown out weekly from the latter stages of the home renovations onwards. The judges worked well enough - LLB has a reputation here in the UK so I was dreading him on this but I thought he fitted in pretty well. Drew wasnât too bad either - just completely overshadowed.
Still wish theyâd sort the zone allocations out - the split zones just make it messy and really isnât worth it just to get arguments over space. It would make the reveal shows much smoother if the zones were split sensibly (i.e. Master & Ensuite, Dining & Kitchen) so everything flowed. Would also mean a better end product for the home owners.
Wendy and Drew will appear on Channel Seven Telethon in Perth this weekend. Does it mean they will also be in WA to judge a new interior renovation for the new season?
Not necessarily I would have thought; they are just coming over to be a part of Telethon from House Rules since we all know how much Perth likes to get some stars from most Seven shows to appear as part of Telethon.
The Hyphen is too busy to come over?
Season 6 has been pushed back to the third quarter of 2018, according to Sevenâs upfronts today. There is a mother-daughter team.
And LLB will return as a judge.
Johanna Griggs said that filming started on House Rules and sheâs taking a break (so obviously most production is off) over the next few weeks for Christmas.
Which is in-line with Tenâs Q2 staple MasterChef (which started filming also).
Both shows some weeks ago.
Whilst MKR & Married would be if not already finished filming, wrapping up. In post production now/very soon.
You donât have to keep posting speculation as facts. Really, you donât.
First two promos for the new season aired tonight during Australian Spartan, featuring new teams Josh & Brandon, and Todd & Mandy.
Last yearâs second placed team, Kate and Harry from Adelaide, has split.
Kateâs original message
Looks like House Rules really is going to become similar to The Block now. There is going to be a mystery house in this season of the show that will be going to an auction according to a new promo currently showing. It will actually happen in the first two episodes if the promo is to be believed.
Donât know about that. Maybe they are going to change the format of the show so when they get to the finals, they are working on a house that will be auctioned off.
So maybe out of six houses to be renovated, one house will be auctioned off in the end.
Thatâs a possibility. It could be a couple who are competing who didnât have a house in the first place but benefit from the sale.
A whole Mystery House transformed, revealed to the nation and sold at auction âŚand thatâs just the first two nights!
Youâve never seen anything like the new House Rules.
This show did extremely well for Seven in Q2 last year, I think surprised many, well up on previous years.
Except they ruined the finale.
They also launched on MKR finale night, worked okay for HR but at the expense of MKR. Doubt Seven will try those decade old tricks again!
Iâve seen a team promo featuring contestants named âToad and Mandyâ. Not Toadie from Neighbours.
