Time to axe Hot Seat and bring in Tipping Point with a new host. Hot Seat is long overdue.
Red Symonsâ previous appearance on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire was referenced tonight, when he infamously lost on the $500,000 question despite still having the 50/50 lifeline.
Good having Red Symons and Wilbur Wilde together again. Also the Curry =brothers - Stephen and Bernard. It finished at a minute or two past 10pm, which is good.
Major stuff up by Eddie on the last question there⌠Surprised Red didnât know the answer as he seems well versed in languages.
He clarified his comments today. I donât think anyone actually believed he was saying he was proud of the clubâs past instances of racism.
I enjoyed Will and Woody tonight.
He apologised for what he said.
Are there meant to be any more Millionaire specials?
As I thought I saw former NRL player Billy Slater in a promo as a contestant but havenât seen him on it yet.
I think that will air after the Australian Open.
Why are people in the media some of the worst at handling their media appearances?
He was listed in the media release as well.
I was all for a new version of the original series (yeah I know the at doesnât make sense). But it wasnât great. New lifelines would have been fun and I wish they had steered clear of celebrities. Maybe a champions version (similar to what the chase did) would have been better.
I caught up with the second celebrity episode last night. Wilbur Wilde and Red Symons were a bit careless for not using a lifeline at the $32,000 question and instead got the wrong answer.
I also wondered when the sport stars special would go to air as well.
Heâs stepping down from his club role, for the record.
But more of that specifically can be discussed in the relevant thread.
Whether that will affect his role on TV, I donât think it would hamper it too much. Might potentially detract some (ex) Collingwood supporters, but otherwise the majority of the audience across the east will remain.
According to todayâs Sunday Herald Sun, Eddie quietly returned to Docklands Studios last week to film more episodes of Hot Seat. When he resigned as Collingwood president, he said he would take a short break from his media commitments.
Eddie McGuire records 18 new episodes of Millionaire Hot Seat.
There probably wonât be as many passionate Collingwood references on the show now that he is not president anymore.
I once attended a Hot Seat taping that recorded six episodes in a day so that sounds about right.
Wow! Thatâs too much for my liking. That would be about 4.5 - 5 hours of taping. I didnât know the same audience sits there for that long!
Apparently, thatâs 12-13 hours⌠Someone else posted about this in a thread somewhere⌠donât remember who or where.
They donât, a new audience is brought in for each show. I was a contestant a couple of years ago. Didnât win any money, donât worry. The contestants not on the show being recorded were in the audience, as well as school groups and other people who wanted to attend.
I was on the fifth taping of the day. My audience support buddy and I were in the crowd for the first two shows, I was in hair/makeup/wardrobe for the next two shows, was a contestant on the fifth show, then they put us in a van and took us to the airport when the sixth show was being recorded.
I donât remember being in the studio for that long? My recollection is that we started filming around 9am and we were in the van perhaps after 3pm. I think it might be a standard 8 hour day.
