“Due to the overwhelming number of applications we have closed contestant applications,” a Nine spokesman told NCA NewsWire. “It’s the most applications the show has received in a 24-hour period.”
When will the new episodes in Queensland start recording and when will they be released?
I understand recording is expected to take place late September and October and aired in October and November.
I Wonder if Nine will ever do Hot Seat: All Stars with Celebrities playing to Win All for 1 Charity? If so it’s likely the All Stars Edition will air in Primetime.
I’ve requested them also to do a Channel 9 staff edition, as well as a kids edition but they don’t seem interested. I guess Hot Seat will retire if you take a look at the ratings.
It would be nice to have Hot Seat have a few special editions in primetime - whether they have a celebrity version, an all-stars version, heroes/health workers version etc. Whether if it is a Hot Seat version or a Who Wants to be a Millionaire version…
I’d prefer they brought back the original WWTBAM concept if Nine were to make a primetime version.
I’d go with Who wants to be a Millionaire over Hot Seat but if they really want to keep Hot Seat, then why not:
- Hot Seat - Normal edition
- Who wants to be a Millionaire - All Stars/Special editions
What studio in Brisbane is it coming from?
from what I heard, it’s being filmed at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre.
That’s correct. GCC&EC. Eddie is staying at The Star across the street.
I’m assuming this would be the first time a game show has come out of Queensland since Family Feud?
There was ‘Cash Bonanza’ on Nine produced at Warner Bros. Movie World in 2001.
The set actually looks quite good without the Audience!
I doubt we’ll be seeing a report like that airing on Seven News Sydney about The Chase moving from Melbourne to NSW. With good reason.
At the end of the day, it gives Nine Brisbane a bit of a push over its rival Seven.
I believe “The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime” was also filmed in QLD around 2000.
Frank Warwick was flown to Sydney for that unless they did some eps at BTQ that I’m not aware of.
A couple of kids game shows may have also been filmed at QTQ (and/or BTQ for that matter) in the nineties. I can recall Download and Now You See It being produced by QTQ.
