Hit Network

Isn’t the Hit Network already catering to the 25-54 women anyway? They just need new branding to move away from the poisoned 2Day and a new breakfast show for the 200th time. Maybe SCA need to play the long game and see what happens to a volatile ARN.

… So … Mike E & Emma for 2Day breakfast in 2026 anyone??

100% now is the chance to do it in 2026.

Get a big female to lead the breakfast show like a Mel T And go hard for the female audience.

K&JO lite.

Perfect for the Sydney audience who seem to revel in that trash.

They could blow up the Hits before they Hit format so probably go in a different direction for Breakfast.

Problem is they have nowhere really to go in Sydney, CHR is crowded, AC is crowded with Smooth and Gold now skewing younger so Heart would probably fail too.

Triple M does rock but not very well.

Niche formats such as Hip Hop and RNB are covered by CADA, but they have dropped the ball massively since they axed the Edge.

100% Dance music similar to Capital Dance would be great but would have to be a standalone station and probably would rate 1-2 share points max.

Just put the station into hibernation turn off the lights and network breakfast and dayparts in. Probably save them a couple of million in talent for similar ratings.

Yeah, I’d go with a higher energy station. Make KIIS106.5 sound Hot AC and Nova96.9 just ‘generic’.

I’d do 2Day104.1 Move To It.

Id say that’s because the person who runs the socials was not very happy about yesterdays decision that was supposedly his

Jimmy and Nath podcast appears to have been completely removed from Listnr and 2Day website. They really appear to be be nuking all history of this show. I’m actually surprised Nath and Emma are being required to stay on-air for next two weeks

That’s not a way to treat someone who has to depart his show due to mental health issues.

and you really believe that’s the full story….

It’s a really convenient reason that is regularly offered when something goes really wrong, and no one wants to acknowledge the real reason.

It can be a cop out, but because it gets a light touch in the media it gets trotted out

And that that happens is an absolute insult to anyone suffering from or who has suffered from mental health issues. These things rightfully get a light treatment yet they’re used as PR cover for bad behaviour. It’s appalling.

In this case, of course it’s all speculation at this stage, and if Jimmy is suffering then I hope he gets the help he needs. But as has been pointed out, it’s quite odd that all mention of him or indeed the show has seemingly been scrubbed from existence so rapidly. Not the response you’d expect to such an announcement.

I was gonna say if you actually have mental health issues, you would announce first before the company go “we respect his decision and wish him a speedy recovery”.

The reverse made it seem like the company came up with it and he just went “yeah, that’s why”.

Why? In some countries Mental Health is still a taboo topic. It would take guts to publicly mention this on air let alone privately with your employer. I think if there is any truth to it, it doesn’t need to be announced as such.

Agreed - why it continues to be an acceptable practice baffles me.

You shouldn’t have to - despite a lot of great effort, there is still a stigma around mental health, not to mention it’s not anyone’s business.

For the record, I don’t condone the disclosure of mental health issues if said person doesn’t consent to do so.

I only brought it up because at this moment it is getting the same treatment as “ratings failure” or “division restructuring”.

Internal sources (from some users above) suggest that it isn’t, at least, received the way it should be. Probably even a scapegoat for something deeper.

And that is horrible.

The wipeout of everything related to him or his show only adds fuel, frankly.

It’s offered (and no doubt often accepted) because it’s a reason that attracts little attention and buys time, the reality is that its used to avoid the real reasons being known

You don’t scrub any existence of the program because someone has stepped away for real mental health issues, its done because something serious has happened that they want to distance themselves from. It’s a pretty clear indicator that the reasoning offered by Hit isnt anywhere near the whole story.

Trust me, there is a lot more to this and if you only knew the full story…

Are you saying something has happened recently? Or is it related to his long running issues with crude jokes and disrespect towards women which has been reported before?
