Good exposure for Tim after being with Mix and SCA for a long time. Have heard him fill in for Bernie and Dylan a few times across Nova, Triple M and Mix

They post jokes on their socials that don’t make it on-air all the time. And some of the jokes that do make it on-air are censored.

If you notice they also have two Instagram accounts which I guess means they actually own one of them (so they can do/post what they want and SCA can’t do anything) and the other is an SCA owned one.

@jimmyandnath & @jimmyandnathshow (I guess the bigger one of they one they own :stuck_out_tongue: )

Mark Soderstrom to quit SAFM breakfast at the end of the year

Knowing the Adelaide market it’s just the usual rotating chairs. He’ll probably go back to Mix102.3 with someone was Mix going to SAFM and someone moving to Nova919. Same old.

I dunno, there does appear to be a bit of change within the market with the local rush hour on 5MMM binned. Given SAFM’s breakfast is already sixth in the ratings, you’d have to wonder if they’d take the hit on a few more points and just stream in a show from Sydney or Melbourne to save some extra cash.

Hope he can survive with his other 2 high profile jobs!

The Hit Network suffered a technical issue this evening during The Pulse, in which after Sabrina Carpenter’s Please Please Please was just dead air for about 35 seconds, before Coldplay’s Viva La Vida started playing for about 5 seconds before going to a hip-hop song. On the 2DayFM feed, it returned with a voiceover that said “Sydney” as Viva La Vida began, possibly just an incomplete airing of the 2DayFM station ID, do note this program is syndicated across the Hit Network, so yeah. Anyways, Seany B and Emma G are back on the air again now as of posting.

I do have an incomplete recording of the technical issue, the whole blackout was recorded, but the transition to the hip-hop song from Coldplay was not recorded, hence it being incomplete. Anyways, wouldn’t think anyone would care much about that.

Seems safe to assume Viva La Vida is the first track in one of their program fail players.

The cut-off ID would be because PFA players have a time and audio threshold before they return to the main feed - this is to prevent momentary audio from switching back to program, which could then go back to PFA, and over and over you go (‘flapping’). Most people just set them at 2-5 seconds.

It seems they may have already ended Bec & Soda as their picture on the website and podcast has been replaced with a generic The SAFM Breakfast show one. John Blebly is hosting this morning, just more music for the drive into work. Will be interesting to see if there is any mention of Bec and Soda going forward.

Where/why did Bec go? We knew Soda was leaving.

(Double post alert)

I’m predicting Ben, Liam & Belle to take on SAFM Breakfast.

Huge prediction.

The question is whether SAFM would even have the clash to lure them back.

As unfortunate as it is when there are people’s careers on the line, if the cost cuts need to come at SCA, SAFM could just play automated music at breakfast, and the ratings couldn’t be much worse than they are now.

Aren’t Ben & Liam originally from Adelaide? Given the way they were quickly brushed to a random “late drive”, I’m sure they’d take up the offer.

Plus, SAFM is now “Adelaide’s #1 Hit Music Station”, so are obviously skewing towards a younger audience again - going towards what The Fox is, rather than what 2DayFM has become.

Bernie Vince and Emma G, from November 11.

Yep - started out on community radio, then moved to Triple J Breakfast, before returning to Adelaide on Nova 919, before moving to Melbourne a few years ago.

My hit107/SAFM era has come to an end :hourglass:

I was told on Tuesday that my contract would not be renewed and was offered the opportunity to see out the week. Unfortunately the way the events unfolded meant I felt emotionally unable to return to the studio so I want to say sorry to the SAFM family that I didn’t say goodbye.

I am grateful for the past six years, the lifelong friends I’ve made and the things they’ve taught me about radio. Thank you to the community we built and the listeners who told me my Mum Fails and Hot Messes made them feel like they were not alone. I never took for granted the platform we have on breakfast radio to try to make a difference 🫶🏻

Thank you to my family and friends for tolerating my sleep-deprived moods, you can decide whether seeing more of me now is a blessing or a curse

Brb sleeping for a bit or selling foot pics :speech_balloon:

Where is this being reported?

Would be surprised because Bernie, Blewy and Jars are pushing their own Instagram account quite hard and saying something coming up in the future.
