I feel sorry for Rebecca Morse, who had to suffer brutal sacking first at 10 News Adelaide, then at SAFM a few years later.

Well that was all very sudden. I’m not sure that Emma G will be as strong a talent.

So why did Soda get a fanfare goodbye, yet Bec got sacked all in the same week?

I’d love to know what really happened.

Didn’t Soda decide to leave while Bec didn’t have her contract renewed.

Amazing how that translates on-air… So if you choose to leave, you can say goodbye. But if your contract is up for renewal, you cannot say a word?

Based on Bec’s post above, it sounds like she was given the opportunity to be on air for the rest of the week but she chose not to.

So brilliantly executed.

I wonder if anyone at ARN/KIIS101.1 wished they could’ve done something massive & local like this.

A successful Sydney breakfast show isn’t the only secret ingredient to build a No.1 Melbourne radio station.

They probably don’t care anymore. I think ARN have given up on local at KIIS. All they care about these days is relaying K&J into Melbourne and trying to get them to No.1 in the Melbourne radio ratings. I reckon before you know it, with the way things are going at the moment, they might just shift remaining local production over to Sydney and turn the KIIS Melbourne transmitter into a direct repeater of KIIS 1065 from Sydney, with Sydney news, Sydney weather, Sydney traffic, and of course, Sydney commercials. Remember, KIIS is SoSydney, they’re not a Melbourne brand whatsoever.

At least Fox FM knows what they’re doing. Keeping it live and local in Melbourne.

Im not a regular listener, but tuned into Mix94.5 just after 5:30am this morning. Pete and Kymbas start time has been put back to 6am and best bits were playing.

If its a permanent switch, Mix joins Nova with the 6am start while 96fm and Triple M stay at 5:30am

anyone know if Jimmy and Nath continue on 2DayFM beyond 2025, or are they still consdiering a different team?

I know they were only slated for the remainder for the year, but wondering if something more concrete will be in place soon

There’s murmurings that it could be Jimmy and Nath in 2025 but nothing’s confirmed yet.

As if 2DayFM have many other options other than Jimmy & Nath.

I’ve often wondered how Zoe Ball would go on Australian radio.

She’s now ā€œavailableā€ if she brings her family down with her.

Why not give her a go? She has fantastic contacts and sounds bloody good on air.

They could do worse

Yeah the thought has crossed my mind too whether 2day fm would be better off with a single solo female presenter at breakfast, with plenty of guests. The Zoe Ball show on R2 is actually quite listenable.
