Multicast a breakfast show on Channel 10 and SCA with the talent nationally, give it a visual albeit basic same as what they do now on webcams.
I reckon there is an audience not commuting that listens to radio that could have the tv on in the background as an alternate to current offerings

I really like this idea, and taking breakfast TV with you in the car for continuity. During songs they could just show live streams of various places. Ads could be split for tv vs radio versions.

I think they would need to skew the station younger for the Hit Regional Breakfast and also if they were to put Mike E & Emma on 2day fm Breakfast in 2025.
I was in Brisbane earlier this week and had a listen to B105 and it sounded quite good. Put 2day on the B105 log with Mike E and Emma. They may get some of the Nova younger listeners.Run Mike E and Emma 6-10 to go head to head with KJO, and against the first hour of Nova’s daypart. This is what I would do.

Based on the 2DayFM breakfast show over the last 11 years I predict what will happen in 2025 and beyond.
Step 1: A capable duo or trio of talent will be hired for the breakfast show.
Step 2: The names of the talent will be changed to something like “Wanga, Dongo and Roota”
Step 3: The talent will pose for a photo op and pull deranged faces. These photos will appear on billboards up and down Parramatta Road.
Step 4: The talent, the panel operator, producer and all assistants that are within 3 metres of a microphone in the studio will be told to burst out laughing at everything that happens on the show. The laughter must be extreme and non-stop. The laughter must be relentless and loud.
Step 5: The show will rate a 4, possibly a 3.
Step 6: The show is axed.
Step 7: Repeat as above in 2026.
Note: If step 2, 3 and 4 are skipped, then Steps 5, 6 and 7 can be avoided.
C’mon 2DayFM - think outside of the square. It’s time for 2DayFM to “sound different”

2Day FM are moving in that direction with the new format of “90s and Noughties”.
TBH I preferred the previous format with 80s but I guess this already exists in the market now with the recent launch of Priceline radio, hence 2Day FMs differentiation.

I think the majority agree. Mike E & Emma 6-9/10am weekdays and move 2Day’s music back to similar to The Fox & B105.

Mike E & Emma aside - Jimmy & Nath also deserve a shot. True radio people who’ve worked there way up over 10 years plus - They also took Hobart Breakfast to no.1, so they clearly know a thing or two about winning a market over.

I’d have the following on 2DayFM ASAP:
- Mike E & Emma 6-10am weekdays
- MC 10am-3pm weekdays
- Carrie & Tommy 3-6pm weekdays
- The Pulse 6-9pm weeknights
Music format: HotAC/CHR.
As good as Jimmy & Nath are, I’d give them Saturdays 7-10am and have them as fill-ins for now.

The challenge for 2Day is: do you differentiate yourself from the opposition with a show like Jimmy and Nath, or do you try and take on Kyle and Jackie O with a discount version of their show?

So Mike and Emma just talk about pegging and squirting? That’s all K&JO seem to do these days. Plenty of room for an edgy show that isn’t just sex talk.

Agreed. Mike E isn’t as vile as Kyle. And Emma is relatable to a different female audience than Jackie O. I wouldn’t say their shows are “the same”. Mike & Emma could go more alternate, rather than, “Breakfast with the Stars”.
If done right, there’s room for 2DayFM to wedge in between Nova96.9 and KIIS1065. Make KIIS sound older and skew Nova96.9 younger.
