So too did The Fox brekkie.
The Hot Hits has returned to the airwaves this afternoon after 9 years with Nic Kelly as host.
Wow! Any socials/digital presence for the new show? And Iâm assuming still airing on 2DayFM regardless of its older format?
Is this like the hot 30 countdown?
THE HIT NETWORK REVEALS TWO NEW SHOWS FOR THE NATIONAL WEEKEND LINE UP
The Hit Network today announced two new shows for its national weekend line up, featuring Nic Kelly, and hugely successful podcasters Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott from the Happy Hour with Lucy & Nikki podcast.
THE HOT HITS WITH NIC KELLY | SATURDAY NIGHTS 5-7 PM
Hit Networkâs very own music devotee Nic Kelly will heat up Saturday nights, bringing his extensive music knowledge to the airwaves in this dedicated music show. It will be the new go-to show for the latest music news, hottest new tracks and interviews with the industryâs best up-and-coming names.
Reflecting on his new show, Nic said: âIt has been a lifelong goal of mine to create a music-focused national radio show. Music is a never-ending search for something that connects to you, itâs a universal language.
âAustralian music is so rich, diverse and exciting and I canât wait to chat with incredible homegrown artists and spotlight their new music each week alongside the big international hits that matter.â
LUCY & NIKKI | SATURDAY NIGHTS 7-9 PM
Hosts Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott from the very popular Happy Hour with Lucy & Nikki podcast have landed on the airwaves with their very first radio gig. The Saturday night show will bring a killer playlist and all the LOLs to the weekend.
Real and unfiltered, the girls will discuss all the things that would usually be locked-up in your friendsâ group chat. With plenty of banter to make sure Saturday nights are hitting the vibe, itâs the best new show for the ultimate âpresâ playlist.
âAfter years of creating our podcast, Happy Hour with Lucy & Nikki, we are so excited to be adding radio hosts to our creds. We canât quite believe that the Hit Network is trusting us with our own national radio show, but we do know that we are going to have a lot of fun making it. Watch this space Australia, weâll be hitting the airwaves soon!â said Lucy and Nikki.
Head of Hit Metro Content, Amanda Lee, said: âWe are excited to announce two new shows to the stellar line up across the Hit Network, which will elevate Australiaâs Saturday nights to the ultimate party.
âNic Kellyâs music knowledge is second to none and he has an uncanny ability to uncover the next big hits. Listeners will want to tune in to his The Hot Hits show to stay on top of all the biggest music news. Meanwhile, Lucy and Nikki have established a huge audience for their podcast, and they are now set to light up the airwaves with their hilarious chat. Also famous for their love of music festivals, listeners can expect to hear their killer playlist to fire up the night!â
Hear these brand-new shows across the Hit Network and LiSTNR.
Well done SCA on nurturing up & coming talent like Nic Kelly and Seany B.
Bright futures ahead. And once they put Mike E & Emma at brekkie and make 2Day sound younger again, thisâll definitely work in their favour for a more consistent sound.
I really hope theyâll continue with the Saturday Night Party Playlist music, just with Lucy and Nikki hosting. I love the playlist for that show.
Fifi, Fev and Nick will broadcast live from Crown Melbourne this Friday morning (February 16), ahead of the first of three Taylor Swift concerts at the MCG later that night.
UPDATE 15/2
Nice to see 2DayFM rebrand to 2TayFM as well.
Clever. And sounds better than SWIFT106.5.
Personally not a fan of these gimmicky rebrands⌠Iâm still scarred by 4B-Hyundai
Did they change the RDS?
To be fair, wasnât 2DayFM one of the originals of doing this annually with 2GayFM as part of Mardi Gras?
I think SCA have been reading this!
No they havenât.
Just checked, still 2DayFM
âRebrandâ isnât on air from Monday.
Hit Network doing âTay Tay All Dayâ, every song is Taylor Swift today.
B105 in Brisbane isnât. Neither is 2Day FM in Sydney.
So from what I gather, 2TayFM will literally be playing Taylor Swift (one of their core artists) tracks back-to-back during its local hours?
I suppose their strategy is to lure every Swiftie to tune (and hopefully stick) to 2DayFM.
Meanwhile, 2MMM is doing the complete opposite with their $50,000 No Repeat Workday.
Not today it isnât. RnB Fridays is on.
