Who?

Is this CADA2.0?

That’s a bit harsh.
Firstly, Lucy and Nikki already have a following that’s bigger than anyone who’s been on CADA.
Secondly, it’s mainly a podcast deal with a network show on Saturday night, a shift which people would have previously praised for being used for talent development. It’s hardly like they’re handing over the keys to the station.

The talent of tomorrow have to start somewhere. If you think the only people worthy of a gig are people you’ve heard of, then you’re part of the problem.

Alexandra Bryant has replaced James Lake as newsreader on Fifi, Fev & Nick.

It was just announced on Fifi, Fev and Nick today of Fox’s $5 million Drop. It is the biggest cash giveaway in the station’s 43-year history. The cash is hidden in a secure vault somewhere in Melbourne.

EDIT: a similar $5 million cash giveaway was announced on 2DayFM yesterday.

What sucks is the fact both promos are “a share in $5m”.

I think both promos are 5 people get a chance to win 1 mil each. Again the important word being chance. Ideally both stations would want to at least give away 1 mil I reckon.

Contesting’s open for 60 days.

Assuming they put 10 people a day on the standby list.

That’s 600 people in the draw to be 1 of the 5 to get a 1% chance of winning $1-million.

That’s a 0.00167% chance of winning the mill if you make it on the standby list.

Aka a bank. Do they promote that it’s in a secure vault in Melbourne when they promote it on 2Day?

Just do a promo of giving away “up to $200 million” and just give away a quickpick to the Powerball this week…

Wow! Any socials/digital presence for the new show? And I’m assuming still airing on 2DayFM regardless of its older format?

The Hit Network today announced two new shows for its national weekend line up, featuring Nic Kelly, and hugely successful podcasters Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott from the Happy Hour with Lucy & Nikki podcast.

THE HOT HITS WITH NIC KELLY | SATURDAY NIGHTS 5-7 PM

Hit Network’s very own music devotee Nic Kelly will heat up Saturday nights, bringing his extensive music knowledge to the airwaves in this dedicated music show. It will be the new go-to show for the latest music news, hottest new tracks and interviews with the industry’s best up-and-coming names.

Reflecting on his new show, Nic said: “It has been a lifelong goal of mine to create a music-focused national radio show. Music is a never-ending search for something that connects to you, it’s a universal language.

“Australian music is so rich, diverse and exciting and I can’t wait to chat with incredible homegrown artists and spotlight their new music each week alongside the big international hits that matter.”

“After years of creating our podcast, Happy Hour with Lucy & Nikki, we are so excited to be adding radio hosts to our creds. We can’t quite believe that the Hit Network is trusting us with our own national radio show, but we do know that we are going to have a lot of fun making it. Watch this space Australia, we’ll be hitting the airwaves soon!” said Lucy and Nikki.

Head of Hit Metro Content, Amanda Lee, said: “We are excited to announce two new shows to the stellar line up across the Hit Network, which will elevate Australia’s Saturday nights to the ultimate party.

“Nic Kelly’s music knowledge is second to none and he has an uncanny ability to uncover the next big hits. Listeners will want to tune in to his The Hot Hits show to stay on top of all the biggest music news. Meanwhile, Lucy and Nikki have established a huge audience for their podcast, and they are now set to light up the airwaves with their hilarious chat. Well done SCA on nurturing up & coming talent like Nic Kelly and Seany B.

Bright futures ahead. And once they put Mike E & Emma at brekkie and make 2Day sound younger again, this’ll definitely work in their favour for a more consistent sound.

I really hope they’ll continue with the Saturday Night Party Playlist music, just with Lucy and Nikki hosting. I love the playlist for that show.
