Hit Network

How has everyone/anyone found the back-to-back Taylor Swift songs on 2TayFM? And have any other Hit Network stations done the same?

Not looking for them so haven’t found them. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Personally I’m sick of even the words “Taylor Swift” just at the moment :grinning:

Is 2TayFM still doing RnB Fridays today? Or have they dropped it for the first time in years due to Taylor Swift in Sydney tonight?

Since 11am they have been playing all Taylor Swift songs. I’m guessing they’ll be doing this up until Monday, when her last concert is on.

Other than not throwing in the odd Ed Sheeran or Dua Lipa song, I don’t really see how this is different to any other day

Not today, they are doing Tay Tay All Day, while Hit 101.3 is doing RnB Fridays.

I think Nova 969 is doing something similar as smallyz was on at lunchtime playing back to back Taylor Swift.

KIIS 106.5 had a one hour Taylor Swift mix on from 12-1pm today, but apart from that it is their regular playlist.
They are doing all Taylor Swift from 6pm up to the concert and than after tonight’s concert finishes.

It’s Smallzy interviewing Taylor and her songs in between. I’m assuming it’s from when she co-hosted his show.

Makes sense. 2DayFM is really the only station with nothing to lose playing Taylor everyday this week.

Well, they have called themselves 2Tay FM after all!

The station has rebranded for the Sydney leg of the Eras Tour

Carrying this convo over from the KIIS thread, it’s apparent that Mix94.5 are now pitching up their music. In fact, it’s very noticeable. Have any other Hit stations started doing this again recently?

Today is Fifi Fox’s birthday. During this morning’s show on Fox, Brendon Fevola and Nick Cody (and producer Leon Sjogren) had been delivering surprises to their colleague. So far, I have heard messages from Fifi’s two daughters and her mum, and a photo of her apparently is on display on a giant billboard at New York’s Times Square for 24 hours.

15:52 at SCA Perth today

Mix94.5 playing Bon Jovi - It’s My Life (as part of a broader, tweaked fit into the hit network)
Triple M playing Swedish House Mafia - Don’t You Worry Child (in an attempt to be Perth’s Real Alternative, whilst maintaining a somewhat MMM feel and format overall.

Weird! But a good weird. Seems like they two stations would normally play the opposite.

I actually quite like that song.

Me too, I love the Real Alternative format. Just found it odd that the stations were seemingly playing songs that would directly suit the other brand more (technically) at the same time.

Funny enough, yesterday at 5:18pm both stations were playing No Doubt - Don’t Speak within a few seconds of each other:

Strange how they both deviate so much but at other times coincidentally fall into adbreaks, cross to traffic or fire off similar actions at the same time.

Perhaps the panels are still mad about the seemingly pointless floor swap the two stations did when swapping brands.

There have also been times when one song finishes on one station, then you switch stations and the same song starts playing on another station!

This has happened with me at least twice: “Stay” by Zedd/Alessia Cara in 2017 and “Sweet but Psycho” by Ava Max in 2018. Both songs were (and are still) catchy!
