A brilliant appointment. Hopefully some fresh ideas will revitalise (especially) the Mix94.5 brand and make it shine as a clear #1 once again.

SCA need Mi94.5 to stand alone, similar to Triple M Perth (and to some extent what ARN does with 96FM).

Whilst they are part of the Hit Network, they really need to run their own show - which is what made Mix94.5 the previous success it was.

Couldn’t agree more! I feel it’s somewhat heading in that direction, but more needs to be done. Hopefully with these strong minds, we will see some change. Whilst they try keep it like the other hit stations, it won’t rate high.

I always loved listening to 2DAY FM when I was a kid - every night when I did my school homework I’d listen to the Hot30 Countdown with Kyle and Jackie O, while on Sundays Rick Dees and the Weekly Top 40 was my go-to for American music.

Sadly those days are gone now…

Hit NSW’s Matty & Maz did an OB this morning in West Gosford.

Did they run the same show across all NSW Hit stations? Or did other regionals get a pre-recorded program this morning?

Mix94.5 has new sweepers and jingles. New jingle for the most music weekend on the hour and new sweepers ‘This is Mix’. I’m quite liking how they are not using the 94.5 all the time and just referring to it as Mix.

Yes, I noticed it driving around today. I really like it. I’m not sure why they’ve not really embraced the “Mix” name (by itself) before now. Could this be Steve Mummery or James Speed’s contribution…?

I agree. I think probably Steve as it’s been slowly getting introduced with the on air announcers using just mix for a few weeks now.

Has Mix94.5 dropped the “Most Music Breakfast Show” from its title? On their website they’ve just gone to the previous name of Pete, Matt & Kymba.

I strayed on to B105 this morning around 7.30AM for the first time in ages and they played two songs in a row! I was actually gobsmacked. Is that normal or is the breakfast team on holiday? Or technical difficulty lol? I just wasn’t expecting two songs back to back in the breakfast show. It was very refreshing anyway.

Very normal for B105. They play more music than any of the other FM shows.
