Hit Network

here’s something interesting Mix94.5 just created… a group to talk to PMK…

It looks like the Hit Network have changed the entry mechanic to their “P!NK in Paris” national tactic.

They are no longer referencing their new SMS numbers, instead just encouraging listeners to hear the codeword & then call 13 10 60 when they hear their cue to call.

I wonder what happened?

Presuming they amended their terms and conditions, it looks like it lasted two days before reverting to a phone call on the Wednesday. Now you give the codeword to them that way, then they send a text message back (which is what would have happened before, they give you an online form to fill out to finish registration).

I don’t know whether the codewords have been in French or something (especially given the main gameplay mechanic) - but given the requirement for the SMS entry was that they had to spell the codeword correctly, surely they weren’t getting so many entries that were misspelling the codeword? :upside_down_face: I guess other technical issues might’ve also got in the way, of course.

Completely crashed the system on the Monday morning, I’ve been told. Presuming the same happened on day 2 hence pivoting

Why wouldn’t you have Jimmy & Nath live at brekkie and return H&A best bits for the drive home (where many traditional H&A listeners would remember them from)?

Interesting to see the mention of “Hamish & Andy Podcast”. Does this mean it will just be a highlights reel of the podcast, or will it be new content (possibly simulcast to LiSTNR)? If it’s all-new, it wouldn’t surprise me if the duo have decided to not change the current podcast opener for the occasion:
Activate your internet, cause the Hamish & Andy Podcast starts in three, two… Sorry, still buffering. One!

Yes.

Wait… Carrie & Tommy are in France at the same time as K&J? Nice coincidence.

…and the cheap as chips Hamish and Andy podcast for Brekky is on Mix94.5 this morning,

Still reckon that they should’ve given H&A for drive, and handed brekky either to local presentation, or Jimmy & Nath, or Mike E & Emma

Yes, they should definitely have used this team. You need to look to the future, not wallow in the past.

Brilliant! Agreed. Mike E & Emma for Hit Breakfast would’ve been great.

Only problem is Jimmy and Nath are now a joint show with Abbie so it cant work. Untill Abbie dumps Jimmy of course.

Still, you have Mike E & Emma who is rotting away on DAB, and friday late nights - they deserve more IMO

I’ve actually been enjoying Jimmy and Nath on drive to be honest - much more engaging to listen to than Carrie and Tommy…

It looks like SAFM is now using the positioner, “Adelaide’s MOST Music”.

How long has this been in place? And are any other Hit stations using this?

Mix is still positioning itself as “Mix Means Variety” and “Perth’s Most Music Workday”.

I’m guessing it’s all part of Hit’s strategy to re-localise each station. It seems most metro markets are positioning their own way - which completely makes sense & is a brilliant move by management.

does SAFM Limestone use “Mount Gambier’s MOST Music”?

So, is SAFM doing anything to actually back up that claim? Mix has Mix60’s (60 minutes of commercial free music) several times a day, plus two songs back-to-back at the top of each hour during breakfast.
